F4i Question

I just picked up an 05 F4i and I need:

dented gas tank (will an 03,04 tank fit on the 05?)
crash cage (I also don't know if the 04 cage will fit on an 05)

can anyone give me info on this?

Dent your gas tank in. Or bring the bike and a case or beer or 1/5th of rum to my house and I'll dent it in for you. If you don't want to dent your mint tank, look on ebay. Buy a Freestyle Ingenuity cage or PM Lou brakant.

Re: F4i Question

Yeah Im leaning away from denting the new tank. I just have to find out if the 04 cage fits the 05. I guess I have plenty of time to think this over since its supposed to rain for like a week straight.

Re: F4i Question

The F4i tank are interchangeable from 99-05. The only parts that are not interchangeable with 01-03 and 04-05 are the subframe and tail, unless you swap them completely with the seats and plastics and all. All the panels and non electrical parts are also interchangeable from 99 and up. The electricals are interchangeble from 01 and up. If that is confusing....good

The tanks are interchangeable from 99-05 even though there may be a slight difference that I am not aware of. The major changes from 99-05 were to the subframe(going with the two seats instead of the big bananna seat then back to it), fuel injection in 01, powder coat in 01 and also 01 had some minor cosmetic changes, like the ram air vents and headlamp style, front for example. I have owned an 02 F4I and a 00 F4. I swapped somethings out on the F4 to make it look just like the F4I.

Gsxr 600, 750, 1000 tanks all fit each other from 2001 to 2002, plus a few other years around the same time, along with many other parts that are interchangeable...

the f4, parts will interchange, rearsets, tanks, subframes, swingers and all.

of course other parts might have to be changed as well.
