have any of yall ever welded a frame??

i found out that one of my friends works at a metal shop down here, so i was thinking about taking it to him and having it welded back together...

i dont exactly trust his knowledge though, and was just looking for a second opinion on the method to use. he was telling me that he could drill a hole through the end of the crack, then tig it all back together, and it should hold? kind of like repairing a window.

 

or is there a simple way to re-inforce the frame by welding metal plates onto it?

 

Hey Ryan you wanna ride today?...and you'd get a lot more responses to that ? if you put it in help and how to or something like that with pictures. Lots of guys on here have welded frames back together.

 

yeah, i still haven't swapped out the rear tire on my r1 yet, let me call them and ask how long it will take.

you guys should really use a god damn telephone... and yes that would be the proper way to have your frame repaired... and adding extra plates does help

 

maybe you should use stuntlife more...
