Took my new rifle to the range today to try and get her zero'd in. It's a Savage Arms 116SS caliber .300 Remington Ultra Mag. I only managed to get off about 5 rounds before the recoil got to me and I had to stop for the day. Worst of all, only 1 round hit the target. A second round clipped the target, but actually split the post the paper target was stapled too :YEAH .
FYI: With a 12 gauge shotgun, your looking at an average of 30 pounds of recoil. This rifle, has about 45 pounds of SHARP recoil. The rubber recoil buffer on it was pretty worn, and the rifle ended up tearing open tiny slits in my skin and left the rest of the shoulder black and blue.
Any of you momo's man enough to handle that beast???
