Nope, I still have to go to work. If you think our bosses would say just take it easy for a while until the strike is over.....bahhh......I think I'm busier during the dammed strike, if that was possible.

Re: Laid off from strike

I think Im going on strike for all the crapy dinners I have been getting. A strike is the last thing Flint needs . Dan you going to get the new Camaro first or will Matt be the first.

I'm not buying anything for while since I bought a new bike. Actually selling the Vette I believe to save up some $$ Matt is loaded, so he will more than likely end up with the Camaro first.

Are you ever coming back up here for a vist

Re: Laid off from strike

I work at the truck plant in Flint. Today I took my gsxr to the strike line. Right now I am trying to put a right side handel bar "Harris"grip on, but the throttle has a little lip on it. I can not get the gel grip over it. HELP!!!! I need this grip on before the strike is over so I can ride it to work..

Hmmm, never changed grips on my motorcycle before. Does the soapy water trick work like it did on all my bikes??? Good luck

Correction, I will have the Camaro first since I am clearly the shuga-mama.

if you have an air compressor blow air into the grip via the hole at end of rip works great on getting on or off.

Re: Laid off from strike

There is a little lip on the throttle tube and I can not get that dam grip over it. I already rip the inside gsxr writing in the grip. I am thinking of sanding, grinding, or cutting that lip down. The strike is over, That means I can spend a little money now .Maybe Ill take my bike to c and c since great lakes will not put after market grips on. Sorry for jacking up this thread.

I ran into that w/ mine.you dont need the lip,it serves no purpose since the grip will never slide over the bar end when you put it back on. I took a bastard file to knock it down most of the way, then smoothed out trhe rest w/ 120 grit sandpaper.the plastic is pretty soft,I had it outa the way in like 4 minutes.ya dont need to pay great mistakes $80.00 hr to put grips on your bike dude hope this helps..

they gave me my wrist back so I'm really just tryin to get some strength back in it.I still cant feel my pinkie... the elbow is still pretty bad, cant move it much. but 80% recovery is the doctor's goal-so mine is 90%. we'll see how it is 6 months or so from now. got a long recovery ahead of me,thanx for askin & good luck w/ the grips,ya might consider a blowdryer or heat gun on them too cuz heat will make em more "jelly like" and workable.
