It's official.........I'm bikeless
It's official.........I'm bikeless
For the first time in six years I don't own a bike.
Thought I would sell mine while I could still get some $$ out of it before the winter non-bike selling season started. Well I've made up my mind after this article, it's the bike I'm getting......should be in November. Until then does anyone have an extra "beater" bike I can use now and then to ride, no wheelies I promise????
Anyhow, check this out. Read the article......it's really a good write-up I thought and very honest.

Glad you're getting the bike you really want but bummed out you won't be riding pretty much for the rest of the season. Matt bought me a nice Shwinn for my birthday that you are welcomed to use. Re: It's official.........I'm bikeless
LOL shwinn-good one Kim! I'm bikeless right now too and my friend Todd will be here from Alabama from fri-wed with his zx12.first time in 2 years and looks like I wont be able to ride with em!
Can anybody help????

I really like the new Buell 1125R. Does it come out in November? Just out of curiosity is there any Buell dealers around Michigan that will have the demo bikes to test ride them? I love the Buells - got a lot of compliments off my XB9R Firebolt. My biggest mistake was selling it - I should have kept it as a back-up bike to my GSXR.
Re: It's official.........I'm bikeless
I need to borrow a bike. got an expensive sounding noise commin from the tranny.I put the new clutch in (witch is 1000% better now),did an oil change in the process and now I cant hear it when riding. can baaaarly here it on the stand. seems most noticable in 6th with the bike on the rear stand (proly cuz it's the fastest) can only hear while Idleing w/the clutch engaged and in gear. was alot louder before the new clutch/oil change, but it's still there (a little) before I did the work on it (clutch) I cleaned and adjusted the chain (that's what I thought it was at first) and no dice so I took off the chain and front sprocket-still no dice ,noise still there. it's kind of a rattle? sorta sounds like a train commin down the tracks from a distance "clikity clikity" intermittent. took it to great mistakes today, put on thier stand and they couldnt tell me anything I did already know-cept it would be 5 days before they even look at it and yeah they'll have to open her up at $80.00 hr.Sorry if I hijacked your thread Dan,the new Buell DOES look like it will be the shiznit IMO:YEAH
Re: It's official.........I'm bikeless

Re: It's official.........I'm bikeless
It's now DR law no one shall bring up or talk about another person crashing or having a problem with their bikes. Now we need to get together and have a drink on it.

Looks like the best is yet to come for the super duke.
Pulled form SuperBike Magazine.
Its fantastic ability to find grip when big fours are spinning, and the explosion of torque to fire out of corners past traffic, make the big V-twin my favourite engine. Ever.
What’s more, it seems to be getting better over time. The snatchy throttle at low revs and low speed has almost disappeared – and I have two theories about how this has occurred.
One, I’ve adapted my throttle control and riding style – matching low gears with high revs keeps me out of the nasty low-rev spot, and I’ve stopped feeding the throttle in so aggressively midcorner.
Also, it appears that the engine has actually improved with age and use. KTM say that most of their Super Dukes do improve as they pile on the miles, ridden hard. Apparently this frees up the tight engine, producing slightly more power and improving efficiency. This is coupled with the fuel-injection system, which constantly analyses and searches for optimum engine performance. Apparently, leaving the engine at tickover for 10 minutes helps the engine management system find the best possible configuration.
Removing the cat and adding Akraprovic race cans would help the engine breathe and smooth the throttle response; they also look cool and give a few extra bhp. But that’s quite a price to pay for a minimal return.
