Hayabusa?

I am thinking of another FJR or a Hayabusa. Need to ride a Bus first though. Anyone know of one for sale?

Ergo's on a busa aren't as good as you might think.

How do you know what I think they are like? If you are assuming that I think they are anything close to the FJR that's not the case. You know someone that has one? Can I take it for a ride?

There's a few people down in D-Town that have 'em. You COULD ask them but I'll doubt they'll let ya.

I've never ridden a busa before, but I did sit on quite a few of them. The ergo's on the busa are a bit more extreme then your regular old sportbike. If your use to FJR's, you'll definatly notice a difference. But some people like 'em, so run down to a bike store and sit on one. See how it feels.

guess I'll have to get one now, anything for your visual pleasure R.

yeah, I know they have masto power. I'd like an unrestricted one, 2000 and above I think, but those are just as expensive as an 03 and above.

I stand corrected. Jake should do everything in his power to get a busa!

Re: Hayabusa?

NO to Busa, just my opinion old pal.........way to ghetto anymore to me. Before I know it your have it lowered, chromed and a 15ft swing arm. FJR is still cool, the new 950 KTM is pretty cool too or even the Kaw 12 isn't bad.........New R1 and put Heli bars and a few minor mods to make it more tourable. That's my for what it's worth. Are you guys still thinking about bowling or do you still have to do the couple month deal or winter.

Re: Hayabusa?

I reccomend getting an R1, or a gixxer 1000 Jake!

If you are into the twisties, you'll love the handeling, and you'll have more than enough power.

You don't need a big Bussa...

Funny thing, the type of bike has little to do with how you do in the twisties Jarsh. I have passed GSX-R1000's at the gap on the FJR and been passed in turn by a DRZ400 with street rubber. I'm not interested in shaving off 2 seconds on my lap time at Grattan, but I am interested in riding out to California and Driving the Pacific Coast Highway from top to bottom. I don't care what you do to an R1 or GSXR1K, that trip would cease to be fun after a few days in the saddle. That was why I had the FJR. I have sat on a Busa and it wasn't too bad, but I'd have to ride one. Big thing is the legroom too, Busa hase lots more comfy leg position. Another, the Busa is a lot lighter and smaller than the FJR. And more zoom.

Now, if your referring to which bike makes the most horsepower then I guess your right. The ninja makes more. How that makes it a busa killer makes me wonder though. If I had a bike that made 400 hp but ran 13's then I doubt I would label it a killer of anything, except minivans I guess. Horsepower is not the be-all and end-all of motors.
The Yamaha is for comparison. That bike weighs 641 vs. 433 for the ninja yet the ninja doesn't even have a full second on it in the quarter mile...and that is with saddle bags on it.
Besides, I don't want to have to ride around at 12000 RPM(which is where the ninja is at 163) so I can have power when I need it. The Busa makes peak at 9500, FJR at 8000 for comparison

Oh yeah, before people start chiming in saying, "no way man, like, my ZX-10 has like 180 hp man, and like it weighs only 374 lbs man, and that's straight from Kawasaki", these are the actual numbers weighed on a calibrated scale with fluids and from a race track. Not the Kawasaki brochure numbers or the hp taken at the crank, which is about as useless a number as super glue is for whacking off. If that last sentence applies to you then you should probably also know that when your speedometer says 180 that your actually going about 165-170. I am tired of riding with people who say "wow, I was going like 170", when my speedometer is at 155. It used to make me laugh but now it's just annoying. You should say "170 indicated".

Re: Hayabusa?

How do you know that your speedometer isn't wrong?

Just thought I would push that button. Figured you wouldn't have anything else to do until you can ride again. I have played with those "Your Speed is Signs" and found that my reading versus the sign varied between gears and speeds.

Used a GPS on my border to border ride. Within 5mph at 160. Also have an uncle who is a cop around here. Radar showed pretty much spot on at 140. Besides, it's a pretty well known fact that sport bikes have speedo error as much as 15% from the factory. Good one though, had me smiling. Zing.

Re: Hayabusa?

Actually I like the thought of my speedo being off. Although I don't think 15% error is gonna get me out of a ticket doin over 100. I like the feel of the GSXR at about 130 indicated on the e-way.

Is that a Jake correct sentence.
