Hayabusa?
Re: Hayabusa?
I've seen a couple motorcycle test and they stated the R1 speedo to be off by about 2 mph at 140, so that's not to bad. The only reason Jakes is off is because his tires are always bald making the wheels diameter smaller.
I still say no to BUSA, I would go as far as to say I actually hate them. But remember it's all about what you like anywho, your spending the money and we'll ride with ya even you bought a Goldwing.

Now, if your referring to which bike makes the most horsepower then I guess your right. The ninja makes more. How that makes it a busa killer makes me wonder though. If I had a bike that made 400 hp but ran 13's then I doubt I would label it a killer of anything, except minivans I guess. Horsepower is not the be-all and end-all of motors.
The Yamaha is for comparison. That bike weighs 641 vs. 433 for the ninja yet the ninja doesn't even have a full second on it in the quarter mile...and that is with saddle bags on it.
Besides, I don't want to have to ride around at 12000 RPM(which is where the ninja is at 163) so I can have power when I need it. The Busa makes peak at 9500, FJR at 8000 for comparison
Oh yeah, before people start chiming in saying, "no way man, like, my ZX-10 has like 180 hp man, and like it weighs only 374 lbs man, and that's straight from Kawasaki", these are the actual numbers weighed on a calibrated scale with fluids and from a race track. Not the Kawasaki brochure numbers or the hp taken at the crank, which is about as useless a number as super glue is for whacking off. If that last sentence applies to you then you should probably also know that when your speedometer says 180 that your actually going about 165-170. I am tired of riding with people who say "wow, I was going like 170", when my speedometer is at 155. It used to make me laugh but now it's just annoying. You should say "170 indicated".

i didn't read any of the **** you wrote, but 1/4th times don't mean ****..
and BTW, i know about the speedo being off and yada yada yada yada.
From all account i've heard (inlcuding busa owners and suzuki sales reps) the ZX-10R will get to 184 mph faster than a busa will
It came out in the wash!?

yeah, I know they have masto power. I'd like an unrestricted one, 2000 and above I think, but those are just as expensive as an 03 and above.

I can see Jake standing on the back rest scraping the trunk of a Goldwing. (Built in 12 bar). Then all he would have to do is honk the horn and he could show the old fogey(s) how it's done.

1/4 mile times is more of an example of street usablity then it's top speed. Who cares if your bike will do 180 and beat the one next to it there. The 5 times I have had my bike that fast I didn't care who or what bike was next to me. If that is an example of what your using as reasoning for buying a bike when you're old enough to ride you clearly a danger to yourself.
The Zx10 has problems one being the transistions out of the corners on the power/twitchy. Also it is a known fact he the ZX10 has major problems with the 1to2 shift. Most reviews of bikes like the ZX10 and R1 are done using track times as benchmarks for each bike but to me that isn't even fair since somepeople like the way a certain Bike feels over another that in turn means they will push the bike they like farther resulting in faster lap times.
I think Jake if your touring the USA you're best with an FJR just because it has the extra room for your crap. You may be able to get bags for the Busa but I haven't seen any Busa's with them on it.

Guess that would make it "heated storage"

Re: Hayabusa?
That looks pretty sweet actually! Thanks Lucky. I may reconsider. I thought that the only bags for that were the Givis that had to have an external mounting frame installed and looked kind of lame.

I just bought a 2005 Black/red hayabusa last night... I rode the demo they had but the color I wanted was sitting in their warehouse. So, they are getting the bike, registering it, getting it inspected and all that crap... then I'll pick it up from the dealer on Friday after work. Great freaking bike... cant beat it.
