One question what oil are you running? Dan had trouble with his bike not going into gears smoothly with synthic oil. I run AMS oil which is synthic but never had the same problem. Next is your clutch adjusted right? If the clutch is too high it will not fully engage and cause you a slipping problem. I usually spend my first few rides getting my clutch where I like it.
By not running tip top what do you mean? I also wouldn't use octane booster I would go over to the Sunoco on Saginaw ST over by my crip and give her some Turbo Blue which was 4.50 a gallon this year OUCH. If you need help swing by my house and I can help you adjust your clutch. Also all three of our bikes are not just like the same they are the same just different Cans. Hell our bikes are both 2003 LE R1s. LOL

your adjustment on the clutch isnt just on the handle,it sounds like you need it adjusted at the motor or your clutch is just goin bad.also, did you put stabilizer in your fuel last fall?if not, your injectors could be clogging up.
Re: octane boost? slippy clutch?
Bern1 do you have a "carb" sync tool. I need to sync my injectors. Also if he needs to adjust the bottom adjustment on his clutch I sure hope he would know since it used main in case you cann't achieve free adjustment from the top adjustment.

Re: octane boost? slippy clutch?
as far as racing gas goes,i burn a gallon per tank.it wakes up the motor a lil bit, cleans my pipe end,and lordy does it smell good!there are pros and cons about this subject, but ive been burnin it in my bikes for years and my plugs always look good when i check em.at least it isnt going up in price like regular gas!
