I don't like to argue on the internet, but I also don't like to see so much ignorance go unchecked.

First of all, we're talking about people. Yes, other human beings that all belong to the same species as us. They had families, kids, lives, lots of them probably even did wheelies on their motorcycles just like you try to do. AND THEY'RE ALL DEAD NOW.

So what if my underwear were made there? Your underwear probably was too. Same with probably half the siht you own, and most of the computer that you typed all this on. AMERICAN companies are importing stuff from Asia cause they can produce things cheaper and the AMERICAN companies can make more profit. It's not these other country's faults that they have cheap labor, they just do. It's cheaper to live over there ie: an awesome hot meal at a nice restaurant in Thailand (where my mother is from) costs 50 us cents, a haircut costs a dime and paying the cops off costs $5 us.

And WTF are you talking about "They have the money, just the government dont give it to them"? You think the corporations in India and Malaysia give all their money to their governments and then their governments dole it out? What are you smoking? Where the fk are you coming from? You're sitting there bitching about skyscrapers and how they're a symbol of power, DOES THAT EVEN MATTER???

Anyways, we're probably not giving Malaysia any money. Only like 65 people died there and they have their **** under control. Same with Thailand, they had like 3,000 casualties, but according to CNN they ALSO have their **** under control.

I don't see you giving money to bums on the street to help them out! And if the US government didn't send money to ANY of the countries devastated with entire towns ripped apart, I sure as hell know that they wouldn't be spending the money on education, healthcare, poor people or any worthy causes either.

I don't know how you get off talking about other human beings like you're so much better than them and that their lives are useless (probably because you're white and rich or something) but it has me totally appauled.

I don't think he's saying he doesn't Care about their Loss, I'm just thinking he feels the same I do. Why not spend the money here in our own land where we need it, THEN help others.

Yes, because obviously their economy is well enough to be building these monoliths so there should be many Jobs.... Oh wait thats right, the people over there work for Pennies a day while the corporations make millions, which in turn their governments get Tax money... and the rich get richer

But I don't know, I'm a product of Public education, so if what I just said doesn't make sense Blame the schools, then fight to get more money spent on our own country to boost the education of the children and not to help out other countries, then we won't ever have this argument in the future again.

I agree with that, and we definitely already do that. No matter what anyone thinks, we are WAY better off as Americans than anyone else in the world. But this is a disaster situation with 80,000+ lives lost, I don't see how America, as the world's richest country could just stand by and not help.

By the way... The Petronas Towers are in Malaysia, one of the countries that doesn't need our help because they have their situation under control. Actually, Malaysia is HELPING their neighboring countries that were harder hit. You know why? Because they can afford to and know that it's the right thing to do.

 

We've had the money for public schools for a long time (Remember, Clinton left office with a huge national surplus) it's just been wasted on other things. Whether we help other countries or not, I don't think our schools will improve any time soon.

 

Whether we like it or not, the U.S. is going to send Aide. As the only "Superpower" left, for some reason we feel like it is our responsibility to help others out.

Maybe someday in the future our country will need help with something, and hopefully those other countries will remember how generous we have been... or maybe they will remember that we helped others out when we didn't have too, and we have THE BOMB, so if we need help, it is in their best interest to help us.

Jarsh c'mon we aren't the only superpower left...England, France and Germany have plenty of money to aide The Red Cross (you do know this started over on ST page about Donating money to a World Wide Organization Right?)!

So Dan started a thread over here and cleverly put in his Biases on the poll, with strong emotional words like Hate. Then he continues to ramble on about all these HINDU Terrorist in India that hate us. Oh and He compares our poor and homeless to theirs; which (just do one google search) isn't even on the same plane of hunger and famine that ours are on it is way worse.

Then we stir the drama pot and everyone calls all of us people who say hey why don't you help them out it is only about 100,000 people, retards!

But noooooo, GM moved the jobs overseas and now some American who planned poorly doesn't have a job. This is the same American Union Worker who didn't feel that they got paid enough to turn that bolt so raise after raise and abuse of the union system caused the BIG three to say ***** ya (kind of like our hockey players huh?) we are taking our **** to china and mexico!

Now everyone thinks some insiginifcant tower in Malaysia is going to be our Doom!! OHHAHAHAHH WTF!? Based on this logic I would fear Eygpt, I mean with those pyramids and the Sphinx...**** they have faces on there ****...that must mean I am losing my home and America will be no more...why?...Because they have big buildings!!

I'm donating my money to 929ers for a bottle of Xanax. no one needs to be shot and the Rose Bowl doesn't need to get sucked up by a Tornado (unless it was Ohio State vs Mich St.). We need to find a way to help other countrys without putting ourselves into a 7 Trillion (I think I'm close) dollar dept. that my kids will have to pay for someday. Everyone seems to forget we really don't even have the money to give, so that makes this poll sensless anywho.

Used to be the same in Europe and most all countrys, Our dollar in deflating. Now we can't even afford to visit Europe or parts of Asia. Before long they will be coming here for 10 Cent meals, because we will all be jobless. I don't want that for my kids. So I voted to keep my hard earned tax money HERE for my own kids and Americans and will NEVER change my mind. Shittt, 100,000 people die every freak'n weak in Africa, should we sent the other half of our countrys money there. If we had it, I'd say hell ya.....we don't. look up "US Federal Deficit" under Yahoo and explain to me why we should be giving money.

 

If these countries aren't helping us then why should we help them? Seems there weren't too many countries knocking down the doors of the US to help relieve our natural disasters costs. I seem to be reading that from R1dude's post.

I do think all of human beings should be helping each other but lets not be ignorant that just is not going to happen. You and every other person knows that most of the countries on that side of the world could give three ***** less about us. I am a true believer in I'll scratch your back if scratch my back policy but again we know that is not how this world works. But we do anyways and always will because of the way it influence many world issues we need help on. So we give money for our own selfish reasons anyways.

You guys all need to educate yourselves on why GM, Ford, and the USA are contributing to this cause and every other high profile world issue. If you believe any of those companies including the US government are doing it because they love all human beings then you all need to get a freaking clue. If the US government so worried about human beings we sure the hell wouldn’t be in Iraq killing their people and our troops.

Money persuades peoples opinions and there for effects their decisions when it comes to lets say building a factories in their country or trying to when peoples opinion of the US people.

On a side note I do believe some people have already made Asses of themselves prior to this post. I love punks that think they are barney badasses. I guess if someone takes offense to that comment then they fit the statement.
