i have to say, it is truly upsetting to see and hear about people dying on motorcycles, no matter how it happens. But when a rider is killed while running from the cops, how in the hell do people get off blaming the cops? I've seen a couple say they need a 75 mph cutoff on chases. thats horseshit, thats someone that knows they break the law often and wants an easy out instead of tickets or jail. so what happens when you are running from the po and turn a corner at 30-45 and someone pulls out in front of you. you still going to blame the cops and try to impose a 50 mph rule? its ridiculous. ive seen and heard of enough wrecks, hell, i wrecked my damn self, but i blame no one but myself. i know it sucks when po-po shows up at a riding spot and shuts it down. but so what, instead of just showing up, go out and canvas the area, talk to business owners, damn, if you have to, rent the parking lot from them, offer 'em some kind of payment. if you have their permission then po-po cant shut you down, then you wont have that fu(k po-po attitude. basically, im tryin to say QUIT WHINING, QUIT RUNNING, MAN UP AND TAKE THE TICKET. because so many bikes run now-a-days, most cops around here wont give much more than a warning if you pull over right away, thats telling them that you know you did wrong and you are man enough to deal with it. its sad to hear about kids dying. but try doing something about it instead of a cop out. god this **** pisses me off, i deal with too much stupid ****. when you have to do cpr on a 5 year old girl, with no face and grey matter coming from her forehead, because a punk *** 18 year old was late for work and decided to try his luck with a red light. that little punk fuc(k didnt even get a ticket. ive done cpr and splinted broken bones on downed bikers. Sometimes, **** happens, and someone else causes a wreck, but if its your own stupidity that causes yours or anothers death, dont try to pass the blame on the cops.

herer is my $0.02 worth....
if your gonna run from the cops then you deserve whatever comes out of it. don't cry to us when you wipe out because the man was chasing you. your the one driving like a shitbag and he is simply doing his job. quit being a spineless ***** and take a little responsibility for your actions.

I couldn't agree more!! Unfortunately, street riding is a risk of it's own...then you add speed, traffic, adrenaline, and whatever else you can think of...your risk factor increases dramatically!!! You take a gamble and reap the consequences!!!
People, stop using your egos and pride when you are on a bike and start using your head and thinking about the consequences of your actions!!!

I agree to a certain point , in town , they have radios , one of a million cops on the radio can that plate number , when ure talking highspeeds ure not just talking about the rider dying , but how would you feel if your mom got hit by a cop/biker in town at 80 mph in a 35 mph zone during a chase? change your mind wouldnt you? if there chasing a known murder thats different, i dunno this is a touchy subject and theres two sides to it .
Re: ftp
it would be tragic if my mother or my child was killed because of a biker or cop in a high speed chase, but thats a risk in living in general, you never know what might happen. but if the biker wasnt being a dipshit and running, then the cop wouldnt be chasing! i dont feel bad for anyone that dies while running from the cops, it's their decision, and they know the consequence. im tired of hearing FTP because someone ignorant died being overly stupid. dont run, and you wont die because the po was chasing you.
Re: ftp
damn straight bent....you run and sooner or later your *** is worm food. i have no sorry feelings for that person, only for the family they leave behind. time to grow up a little boys and girls.....your actions are really screwing us all.

!!Caution, extremely long rant in progress!!
This is one discussion that I would normally just read through and leave alone, however, it is becoming more prevalent in society, and I am to the point of needing to speak my $0.02 on this subject. Let me start by saying that I, in no way disrespect law enforcement personnel, it is quite the opposite. I have always stopped, and will probably always continue to do so, although nowadays it’s not as much out of respect for the officer, but more for the uniform that he or she wears. I say it this way because there are more and more officers out there who for whatever reason are completely and utterly on some sort of power trip, or are just constantly in a lousy mood, and want to take it out on anyone they can, and that pretty much is anyone they see. These officers just make it that much harder to see the officers who truly do the job to help, and yes I still believe that the majority of the officers out there are there to help.
With that said, on the topic at hand, chase polices. This is a touchy subject, as I see the need to stop people form breaking the law, even minor laws. For if we allow people to get away with minor offenses, where will the line be drawn, and what will become of society? However, at what point do we say enough is enough. One person speeding down the highway, for whatever reason, is endangering the safety of all on the road. Now, the police join in and we have at least two vehicles speeding down the road on a crash course for disaster. And in the case of a motorcycle chase, how is it justified to send a 3500 lb car after a 500 lb motorcycle and say the at the bike is endangering safety, and the car isn’t. Sure the core law enforcement supporters will say that the officer is trained to drive at speeds, and to do so safely. I have to call BS on this one, the truth is that most officers are no more trained to drive at speeds than most people on the roads, and that once adrenalin starts to flow, even the highest trained driver will make a mistake, especially when dealing with TRAFIC, the part of the equation that is unpredictable, and is truly innocent in this situation. And if it is the officer’s duty to protect society from danger and all that, then doesn’t it seem that they should be responsible enough to realize that if somebody is running, they are doing so for a reason, and if it is a “good” reason, they are not going to stop, no matter how long the squad car is back there or how many of them there are. They are going to run till they are stopped by something harder than their vehicle, be it another car, a guard rail, whatever, there is going to be a wreak, and people will be hurt. Now if it was guaranteed that it was just going to be the individual running that gets hurt, that is great, chase away, but if there is even a 1% chance that a innocent person gets hurt, how can we say it was worth it to chase them. Now for those who say what if it was a felon or if they have a warrant? Well these people have even less to loose by running till they have the big wreak, and someone is hurt, for they are going to jail anyway.
I just don’t see the logic in having a officer chasseing someone, the more cars speeding down the road, just increases the risk of someone getting hurt. It is only logical to say that anyone that falls into the category of someone that is worth risking the lives of the innocent to capture, like a murder, rapist, what have you, is not going to stop just because they see a cop chasing them, they will go faster, and more out of control until they go down in a ball of fire.

Re: ftp
I feel both sides of this. the cops around my town are the worst i have ever seen, all young guys on power trips and looking to give ya a hard time, they never give out warnings, they are simply jealous that they cant ride a bike or have enough ***** to get on one. but they are doing their job and they are looking out for other peoples lives...there kid's wife's mother and father's lives. ALSO your life...ridin a wheelie doin 60 down a road could be the end of your life. They dont wanna be pickin pieces of you off the street.
Re: ftp
shiit..........15-20 years ago they wouldn't even pull me over for speeding or wheelieing. Now I get pulled over I always get a ticket and harrassed for being on a sport bike. I get the hellicopter and 2 patroll cars last 2 times this month.
last sat. night 2 cars one hellocopter. ...........My ticket was inproper display of licence plate, they didn't even catch me speeding. I even asked the desk seargant at the HC sherriff office when I put the tail on if he thought it was cool and he told me it was fine up under the tail.....
I don't know what to think nowadays, and havent run for a few years, but if they keep doin me like this I WILL RUN !!!! AZZ FOCKERS

Re: ftp
It's love or hate. You can't please everyone all of the time, but you guys that say you hate cops don't call them. Don't call them when your bike gets stolen or your house gets robbed.........in other words don't be f**ckin hipocrits. Everyone hates a cop until they need one.
Re: ftp
If I WannA Risk My Life Doing Awheelie Down The Road Then Thats My Problem And If I Die Its Their Job To Clean Me Up. THAtS The Point.
And With Chases. The Bike Will Always Win If He Or She Does Not Crash.. And Most Cops Now Have Cameras In THE Car To Take Plate Pics. So If There Is A Chase Starting They Should Stop And Come For You Later...

Re: ftp
or,doggy, not be a spineless shitbag and simply stop. most stunters ruin it for the other bikers. not all of the stunters are out of order, but there are quite a few who are out there.
you have no idea how many times i get looked at or followed simply because i ride a sport bike...the man is waiting for me to do something he/she does not like and harass me simply because he can.
when i started riding in 1990 i never had any problems like this. i have been working in the bike business for around 10 years and have seen a steady downfall in attitudes towards bikers from cops, and i know why....too many stunters doing stupid *** **** on the roads. if the "get the pic and get them later" attitude is your solution, then i say follow it up with a 3 year suspension and 6 months in jail for fleeing and eluding along with another 3 months in jail for public endangerment. how's them apples?
stunters need to figure it out....a few months ago i was driving down oakton street in des plaines, by 83 going east, some **** ****** ballwasher on a bike goes blasting between my car and another on 1 wheel around 70 mph or so, and kept going for 2 blocks or so,splitting cars....at night. about a mile up the light was red, i rolled up to the turn lane ready to hop out and converse with the aforementioned rider, and as i was putting the car in park i looked over and noticed the bike was yellow....a yellow r-1....the same yellow r-1 my shop sold to a person named mike a few months prior. so i dismissed the action as i new him, but did call him the next day and inform him of my displeasure. he followed up with a "sorry".
here sir, here is a band-aid for your severed arm.
since then he has been having a lot of license issues....wonder why.
what if i had not seen him, especially since his lights were looking for the moon, and switched lanes and he crashed...who is at fault there?
as i said before, if your gonna screw off on the streets don't cry to me when you crash or your friends crash, we are all growed up and we make decisions for ourselves.
