New member, intro, lots of PICS, Can you stunt a 1000?
What's up my nigs, I use to ride a 02 cbr 600 F4i for about a year before I sold it. Paid $2400 for it, went through 1 or 2 sets of tires, put about 10k miles on it, Sold it for $3000, Worked out great. I'll let you guys know beforehand, I did not stunt it. I was a corner person, I could hit turns low enough the pegs scraped. I was lucky and never went down. I've came out of turns and hit unexpected speed bumps about 70 mph and got some good air, Which was fun as hell. I was able to ride some good sit down wheelies, Before I sold it I was able to ride around town and i'd be able to stand it straight up and down. Had 1 close call incident that coulda been fatal.
I was cruising down the freeway with a friend, I was accelerating past a 18 wheeler while in the fast lane, Was going about 140 mph, Hit a bump (No steering stabilizer) Which caused the bike to start tank slapping, I was holding on for my life, It was slinging my arms left and right so fast my arms felt like jell-o afterwards, my bike started going down torwards the 18 wheeler, I looked underneath that truck looking at his bigass wheels, Was like hell no and put all my body weight on the left side of the bike hoping that it'd go away from the truck, It worked, But than I was going torwards a wall. I was about to hit the wall and in about half a second I was prepared to let go of the bike and kind've hop off the right side and hope I live but than it stopped tank slapping and I slowed down and cruised down the freeway about 20 mph till I got to a gas station. About **** myself lol
Now then I got another bike, Picked up a 2006 honda CBR 1000RR for $2100. Was rough when I bought it a couple weeks ago. Needed alot of small things but I've fixed just about everything now. Mobil 1/K&N oil change, EBC HH brake pads, New stator, Gel battery, spark plugs, New chain/sprocket kit, Driven sprockets EK MVXZ chain, +1, stock rear. Removed plastidip off the bike for days, Literally. New levers and brake pedal is on the way, along with a new clutch reservoir since current one is broke and leaks. Once all that stuff comes in I will bleed brakes/clutch and ride! Bike run great, After new chain is on it rolls smooth, can't even hear the chain. I'll try to keep amount of pics limited. I know certain forums they love pics and some don't care to see tons of pics, Do you guys like pics? Lol. Here's the bike.
Bike when I looked at it
Brought it home, That's also my 04 KTM 125sx
how dirty swingarm was
Cleaned up a bit
plastidip
Windscreen
Front forks covered in plastidip
Old pads to EBC HH's
New brake master cylinder/reservoir
Oil change
New spark plugs, found BMC filters in the air box!
New chain on and adjusted
Anyways that's where the bike is at now, All I need is the brake/clutch levers, brake pedal, clutch reservoir, than I can bleed them and hopefully be riding. I can push the bike around atm, Start it up, Listen to the beautiful sound, And that's about it! LOL
I have $2486 total in this 1000rr now after all the stuff i've done to it, Including the levers/pedal, and reservoir I've ordered.
Is stunt riding a 1000 difficult? I've been wanting to learn to stunt ride ever since I had the F4i but my F4i was just to nice of condition to stunt. It was literally perfect besides a few scratches on the fairing from a stand still drop.
This bike is for of a condition that I would attempt to stunt a bit because it's already pretty beat. I tried to resurrect it alittle bit. It's just abought there.
That's alittle bit about me and my street riding experience, Got alot more dirtbike experience. Hope some of you enjoy reading a bit of that. Plans is to just ride the bike atm and get use to it, get a feel for the bike. Than see if I can get some wheelies going like I did with my F4i. Any tips, advice, comments, anything welcome!
