Re: OMR SUBCAGES !!!!! new models available

well on the way home the bike was at 235-250 the hole way but it would cool down the faster I went. When I got home it was at 250 but not boiling over like it did before I changed the t-stat....

I think I will try some chem flush and then if need be try swaping the cooling systems between the two bikes..

But I wonder if th sensor is reading high now??

also the fan seems to only throw air to the side not back but it is spinning the right way???

the air has to go some where and the motor wont let it go straight back so it tends to squirt out the sides , if you put your hand in front or the radiator you should be able to feel it sucking the air through or light a cigarette and watch the smoke .

I left the fan switch in the R6 so I used that to check the fan spin. the R6 fan throws air straigh back...

I'm gonna see how much it pulls out of the overflow when it cools down. I'm hoping I just got an air bubble in the system that needs to be worked out but I dout it...

i.e. jump the grass median on to the frontage road then again back to the highway

This is the first one I've had problems with...

I still have the old rad. and it looks clean inside so I wonder if a chem flush will even help..

Re: OMR SUBCAGES !!!!! new models available

But the new t-stat did help a lot... before it would not cool down now matter how fast I would go, now it will.. but it heats up real quick below 50ish mph

Re: OMR SUBCAGES !!!!! new models available

It looks like the sensor on the side of the rad only tells the fan to turn on....I wonder where I will find the temp. sending unit. I want to try swaping them between the bikes to see if the sending unit it bad (reading high)...

do you have a cooking thermometer like the kind you stick in a turkey ? you can put that in the radiator and let the bike run , once the thermostat opens and stays open the temp should be pretty close to the gauge....

bbl gotta go to the post office

I'll try that.... it looks like the sensor is under the injectors....too much work to do just to try it...
