If you are riding some good twisties, you don't have the "room" to take advantage of it anyway.

I move through traffic. I position myself where I feel safe. I do not, however, do like some people I know and try to go 130+ in and out of traffic through malfunction junction. (You don't know anything about that intersection, but the name should explain it.) That's just stupid. If I am going to push my limits, it's not going to be where I will hurt someone else should I excede them.

OMG. One of our friends did that when we were out riding the river roads one day. His nickname is now "Slappy."

I too was on the way to work...lol

I had not yet figured out the proper way to turn in highspeed turns. I had always just slowed down a bit threw the 1 that took me out but that day I had a car right on my *** and could not..... the bike hit the inside curb and we went flying... I broke a toe and a few ribs along with tearing up my knee real good.....

But I have yet to crash (on the road riding "normally") since then. its been about 6 years now..

I am actually an advocate of 600's. I think they are good for beginners and experienced riders alike. They are great for every day riding, riding twisties, stunting, etc. They are also cheaper to purchase and cheaper on insurance.

We were riding the river roads a week or so ago and this young guy was pushing it too hard and crashed for the first time. He broke 5 bones in his back, cracked a rib, and bruised his lung. It sucked. We spent 2 1/2 hours in the ditch waiting on an ambulance to find us. He wasn't hurting at first. Adrenaline was great. When the adrenaline wore off, however, it wasn't so pleasant.

my point exactly...back when I would go on street ride with my "knee dragging" friends I could always lead or keep up with the guys on the 954's and 1k's till we hit a long straight away....they would leave me in the dust but in the turns I could catch back up and pass a few if not all of them....*****'s would not lean their bikes over too far...lol
