I just did wheel bearings. Those bitches aren't cheap. Did the driveshaft u-joints and had a new slip yolk installed too.
That happened to me too. The lower bolt is 1/2 stripped out too.
I went through like 5 starters last year. One just went bad, the next I overheated trying to re-start after running out of fuel, the next was DOA from NAPA, one vibrated the starter solenoid lose, one I broke the plastic cap on the solenoid installing the bolt for the wire, and the last one is still in my truck.
Thank god the previous owner bought a lifetime starter so I didn't pay a dime.

I also got a 220amp alternator when mine went out this summer. I was lucky because I was driving out in the boonies with the foglights and highbeams on and noticed they were dim, then the battery light was going on and off as the alternator was cutting in and out. I was able to ride my bike to work until the new one was shipped to me and I didn't smoke the batteries. 2 big *** batteries are spendy.

That plastic is weak as hell.

I got a box of HID **** I snagged from my last job before I left. Along with a set of 1999-2007 superduty taillights, a set of 2008 taillights, and a set of 2007 harley headlights. Will work for HID? lol.. and no nig.. to use while im puttin ur **** on.. I got 3 torpedo heaters..

Do the u-joints while you are in there too. Trust me. And do the wheel bearings if they are bad as well.
