Gel Motorcycle Battery
The gel cell is similar to the AGM style because the electrolyte is suspended, but different because technically the AGM motorcycle battery is still considered to be a wet cell. GEL batteries are RARELY USED in powrsports applications, and in fact are limited to just a very few BMW specific applications.In addition:

The electrolyte in a GEL motorcycle battery cell has a silica additive that causes it to set up or stiffen.
The recharge voltages on this type of cell are lower than the other styles of lead acid battery.
Probably the most sensitive cell in terms of adverse reactions to over-voltage charging.
Best used in VERY DEEP cycle applications and may last a bit longer in very hot weather applications.
If the incorrect battery charger is used on a Gel Cell motorcycle battery, poor engine performance and premature failure is certain.

Recently a few uninformed importers have been offering a Gel aternative to AGM powersports batteries. STAY AWAY FROM THESE! Gel batteries require a slightly lower charge voltage than what your stock powersports equipment regulator allows for. This means that every time you ride, your battery is getting overcharged, which will lead to shorter battery life!

My katana battery used to leak out the overflow, right onto the swing arm. The acid soaked into the swingarm somehow and corroded it all the way through. Nothing would stop it.

 

You know all those things were for Scott too. He just says they were for Lacey.

 

i would recommend rubbing one out first, or in the shower to kill 2 birds with one stone

• The 01-03 GSXR 600 and 750 have the pegs moved out two inches because of the big tail section

I'd spray it down with a mixture of baking soda and water or any other basic solution to neutralize the acid, then wash it as normal.

 

exactly .... that's how we feel, at this point we usually want to spend money on bigger things that benefit both of us ... like a new badass grill with an infrared sear option
