i believe my mom did an exceptional job of raising my sister as a single parent. my sister never got whoopings because she never did anything wrong (and it wasnt that she didnt get caught) .

my school even had corporal punishment. they would hit your *** with a cricket looking paddle.

everyone one of my friends used to get whooped too. i didnt even have to be with my parents, we all knew it didnt matter who's house we were at if we were acting up, we were getting a whooping, even if it was from one of my friends parents or vice versa.

i still prefer pushups. the goal is to make them not forget to pick up their clothes. it doesnt take much for them to do one task so they may not make a habit of picking it up until mike reminds them, which i'm sure is aggravating. make them PUSH past the point of muscle fatigue!!!!

youre right i retract my previous statement. i dont know, im just seeing him as the same guy my bestfriend since kindergarten was/is.

kids in my neighborhood were *********, i was always having to stick up for my bestfriend getting into fights (and sometimes getting beat up/jumped) who was rather wealthy and was the envy of my neighborhood because he never got into trouble and always had the best of everything.

yeah... my dad was in the military. Used to make me do push ups and ****... Instead of getting grounded i had to bail hay. Lots of hay... if i did something bad i had to stack the hay... LOTS of hay then him and my grandfather would come inspect the 1400 bails i just stacked... and depending on how bad i was they'd make me re stack it on the other side of the barn. 13year old's nightmare. Taught me respect though.

 

that doesnt work so well. There isnt enough stuff for them to "miss" to keep up with all the bad **** they do every day.
For instance, today Alex snuck popcorn and got butter all over the kitchen floor. So instead of beating her fo rit, I try grounding her:
Youre grounded, no friends today after school.
"Im already grounded for this whole week"
Oh yeah Ok well then you cant ride your bike or scooter
"Mommy already locked those up cuz i was bad yesterday"
Alright then, no Tv
"Im already grounded from the tv too"

And thats it, theres nothing else to take away. They dont have that much fun stuff in their lives cuz we dont have anything to give them yet.
