I dont know this for a fact by any means, but i think the fact hat he has the aluminum sliders instead of delrin may have been a factor.

**** it, I'ma go get it welded. It was working fine before we took the motor out so worst case I'll be able to use it for a while longer while I look for a parts bike/another motor.

i was thinking about that the other day. i suspect delrin sliders will soften the inpact a good bit. Al sliders will transfer the force onto whatever they're bolted to.

Hmmmm. Really? Should I take them off and get some plastic ones? My plastic ones snapped off in 3 or 4 drops which is why I went w the aluminum ones.

Since Nick welded the cage for me, the bottom part that runs by the headers is completely bent. Would a blow torch straighten it out a little so I could get the cage back on coz it wasnt anywhere close to going on.

yeah you would have noticed fluid leaking out, and it didnt seem low at all when we drained it. it did seem kind of dark, but didnt look oily.

people dont like the SI delrin sliders because they break. mine havent broken after a few hundred drops. I think people overtighten them in the hole.

**** it then. Ima just get it welded and deal with it later I gotta look at picking up a parts bike or worst case I'll have to buy your motor from your parts bike. Id rather just get a whole bike instead of just the motor but we'll see whats up. Ima try to get it fixed now and hit you up later. Its a beautiful day outside so if you wanna go ride and we'll work on this tomorrow night I understand mayn. Youre helping me out so whenever youre ready.

Yeah. If you have both sides bolted on, you could heat up the bottom joint enough to get the bottom tubes lined up

Yeah but my drops while learning brake control are a lot worse than your drops. I would pancake from 12 flipping the bike occassionally. Most of the time you would set yours down hard from circle attemps or whatever. Ive never seen your bike flipping down the lot like mine - except for maybe when you flipped the endo and I wasnt there

Later peeps

without sliders, one of the curved bars takes the initial hit, instead of the slider which transfers force directly to the motor mount.
I didnt run sliders on my mxd and the cage broke after a while but nothing else did
