I don't want my bike to start in gear with the kickstand down. I was worried about bypassing the clutch because I didn't want to hit the starter with it sitting on the kickstand and in gear. Then I remembered there was a kickstand switch.

Really? I though volkswagons had really good reliability?
the hierarchy a few months ago was japanese, german, USA, everyone else, according to consumer reports. i suppose they are good but i'm stuck on japs. car's can accelerate like jets, but that don't mean they'll do it for long.
