Why is it that every time someone gets into serious trouble with the law they suddenly find Jesus Christ as their savior?

Or chicks on MySpace with half-naked pictures of themselves inside drug-infested nightclubs half-dressed with dudes groping all over them... their headline says "Jesus is lord" and "Church" is the first thing listed under Interests.

If the bible teaches respect, compassion, and consideration for others... why are most of the religious people I meet so much more judgmental than anyone else?

BTW, you should really learn what your talking about. "hell" as we know it (fire and brimstone) was created in the 7th century, the orignal biblical documents state hell as a place where those who reject god can be free to do as they please.

 

It is an interesting concept with a lot of possibilities of what it means to "exist outside of time". But with physics, you either accept all of it, or none of it.

 

exactly, however if you look at it, they all focus on a SINGLE being or power dominating our existance.

could be just human nature to see the world has being dominated by a single thing.

but again, aside from like islam, most religons are pretty loose when it comes to poeple who are "blind" to thier god.


but notice, threw all of them, there are GODS, superior beings, they dominate our existance.

I don't know if it is a supreme being or force or entity or what. I'd hope there is an afterlife, but I'm not sure how likely it is.

Is an afterlife reserved for those who know their fate ultimately, or do animals get an afterlife too? It would seem pretty hard to say we are more deserving then some animals. Chimpanzees have strong family ties. They are smart. They make and use tools. Like people, they have the ability to plan ahead.

And ya... I just quoted all those biblical writings to point at what you just said.

 

well that's the part we wonder about. is our conciousness simple the cells of ours brains sending messages to one another (making us not to much different than a PC), or is that what allows us to utilize our bodies?


alot of church's say animals don't have souls, but again that's a man speaking.

I believe that is what it all comes down to, whether or not that statement is true. Most of the time I believe that, hopefully I'm not just being optimistic.

the problem with that animation is two things


1. it's baised on string thoery, string thoery is not proven

2. it's taking for granted things beyond the 4th dimension. as they stated, as 4 dimensinoal beings, we cannot view the 5th dimension.

that means it could NOT have mass, it may NOT be anything at ALL like ours, and more than likely, it's not.

 

Yes... true, still a new area still being explored.

I'm more into hard numbers, thats why I'm studying accounting.

But from my understanding, string theory is the first attempt to create one all encompassing theory that explains the universe on a large scale and a molecular level. Since that is a huge gap that cannot be explained.

I like watching documentaries relating to string theory, even though I can't absorb a fair amount of it. It's a lot to take in, lol.

 

 

First of all read the bibe before making a statement like that . No where in the new testament does it say to stone anyone. Stoneing was an old tradition, God gave to Moses in the laws in that time and age. Exodus Lev Numbers. Read them before you reply, then consider why those laws where given. It wasnt to give man pleasure in beating someone to death for his own vengence. But GODs law for sinners.

 

Lol evoluton cant back itself up one bit. Even Darwin hung it up in the end and admitted something had to create all this. Evolution stops at the Giraff. Impossible for it to evolve. When it bends over to drink all the blood rushes down its neck and into its Brain. Therefore it would kill it. But it has a like a sponge in its next to stop the blood from filling up its brain. Evolved Not likely.
