it said on that site the 05 636 has 125 horsepower! Is it just me or is that insane?
Seeing as the 03 gixxer 750 had 123, that's nuts at only 355 pounds dry.
How did they manage to increase hp by almost 20 over last years model?

kawi has better front brakes.
case cover, rearsets is all you need.
no problems with mine, but i haven't ridden the 04 gixxer...i supposed i could test one, but my kawi is so nice, that why change what aint broke!

Kawasaki Amde a huge jump since 02 in terms of performance. THey have a history as a "Heavy industry" but that's all changing.
Someon said they don't have anything on Honda yamaha or Suzuki? well is that why the ZX-6RR won the AMA supersport championship?(sp?). Of course the 1000 won the superbike championship, but that's cause of Matt.
Seriously, go with the 636, you'll love it.

Tons of performance upgrades, plus better aerodynamics then a ZX-12R. Get a bunch of mods and you'll have a 636cc busa eater :YEAH

Sounds nice. Kinda off topic but how do you think it would compare to a 03 or so Gixxer 750? Powerwis they seem almost equal, maybe even in the Kawi's favor, but does the 114 cc's more make up a lot with low end torque?
I've been looking at 00-03 gix 7's to get over the winter but now I'm not sure.

When you talk speed and performance between the two 750 or 636, either bike will not have a large differnce. I mean these bikes are so powerful to begin with, hell I've rode with 1000's before on my 600 and hardly knew the differnce. Im just talking about overall quality....

Got any tips on how to build one of the fairing stays? I'm getting ready to pick one up and am gonna have to figure it out.

Re: 636 or gsxr 600 04...
sounds like I'm still gonna go with the 750.
About that f4i, I think it's dumb that they're going less and less sporty with them, I have a friend that was going to get a new one over the winter but then saw the seat, the one piece instead of two, and now is going to go with the 03 I think. I think that's the last year they made them with the two piece seat.
It seams like they're turning the f4i into more of a sport tourer, not putting as much performance technology into it as they do with the other bike, like the rr.

Re: 636 or gsxr 600 04...
remember, althought the 636 is less powerfull than a 750, It is lighter, and there for comes into corners easier, and is easyer to steer in a wheelie.
You could go with the 750, but i'd still pick the 636 over it, the light weight just makes a bid difference i hear
