Re: 636 or gsxr 600 04...
haha, dude, I'm not bashing you at all for beging interested and learning everything about bikes before you get one, I was exactly the same way before I got my permit.
So of course I can understand how a lower CG makes a dig difference, I rode a Harley Road king once (have to say it WAS a nice bike) and even though I'd never get one, the thing felt like it would stay up on it's own. The Big engine is mounted real low so it feels incredibly stable.
However, that bike had to weigh a good 400 pounds more than my bike, so I would expect a radicle change with that kind of weight difference.
What surprises me is that a seamingly small weight difference, one that could certainly be easily offset by differences in rider weight, can make such a large difference in riding characteristics.
Like, if a heavier guy got on a 600 and a lighter guy got on a 750 or 1000, wouldn't the turnability due to lower CG be ofset by the riders heavier legs? I'm sure someone who weighs around 200 would have lower legs that weigh 10-15 pounds more than those of a guy like me at 150.
Now what I'm wondering is, would the additional weight of that 200 pounder bring the handling of a 600 down to that of say the 1000 riden by a much lighter rider?
Not having ridden any of the bikes and not knowing quite the amount of difference there is between them I really can't say.
By the way, I wouldn't trust much from that site seeing as it says the 03 GSX-R 600 has 115 horsepower and the 03 750 has 141. I don't know the numbers for the 03's but I know the o4 600 has like 106 or something and the 04 750 has 127, and those numbers are UP from the 03's.

the numbers on motorbikes are off the crank, those numbers are off the wheel, so they both are correct.
i feel you on the different weights, And If the riders's stayed in the same postion the whole time you could really see the difference. But since they move, the CG is constantly changing. But i see what your saying, and i couldn't agree more.

Did you guys ever wondering about a 15 year old knowing some simple ****ing physics and geometry? go back to school you haters!
>>>that's ok, your right
hey buddy, if you can't see 5-6 pounds making a difference, than you can't see the difference between a 1000 and a 600 aside from power.
>>>few pounds - it realy doesn't make some difference to me, and i've wheelied the **** out of both, it isn't the few pounds, it's the whole different bike cuz of the entire setup...
check the specs
>>>I don't give a **** bout the specs
Knoq qhat this shows? nothing, it shows i can look some **** up on the internet, but just cause i can't ride yet, don't mean i dont know what I'm talking about.
>>> you don't
you can tell, the 750 does feel heavier than a 600. I HAVE ridden them both, and there is a difference.
>>>aldo there is big difference for circles, why the heck are you talking bout circles??? You got 'em?
I have nothing against you man, but but advices from person who thinks that knows can HURT those who are stupid enough to listen to them.
no har feelings just saying mine opinion...

Well, i was talking about racing mostly, but much of racing translates into stunting.
1.FEw pounds don't make a difference to YOU, but a few pounds makes a difference in racing, as i was talking about. so does a 750 motor, but i won't go into that
2.I said check the specs because of the weight and power difference, You don't care about the specs? THEN DON'T CLICK THE LINK RETARD!
3.Well, since you have never driven a Macarin F1, you can't talk about how fast it gets to 60, or 160. You can't talk about it's handling, becasue you haven't driven it yet. You can't talk about it's WEIGHT and HORSE POWER because you haven't driven it. What i just said is a bunch of bull ****, you CAN talk about those things, and if you think your sources are correct, you can state those facts, just like i can about motorcycles. Plus freedom of speech, as long as I'm not banned, i can say WTF **** i want
4. Who says i was talking about circles? i said the 750 feels heavier, you don't need to ride a circle wheelie to know that ride them both fast threw a road course, and tell me which responses quicker. THE 600!
nothing aginest me.... :SPLAT: off da nuts please

I still don't know why I'm relpying to this but....you keep bringing up weight issues and cg for racing and twisties and what not...this is STUNTLIFE...we don't give a f*ck how fast we can go into corners...and I'm pretty sure that I saw in another post that you are being banned so

Re: 636 or gsxr 600 04...
why not go with either, they are brand new bikes, and you dont want to pay like 8k for something that your gonna **** the fairings up on and stuff, buy something old or wrecked and use the extra money you saved for stunting stuff, and other stuff, like beer.

Re: 636 or gsxr 600 04...
pretty much ride what you think is comfortable, and what You think would be better, just because so and so said this doesn't mean that it would be the same for you, I've ridden both of the bikes and the 636 has more low end but the 6 produces more hp on the top than most ( so they say) the f4i is an indestructable machine my buddy bought one in 01 and w/ 20k on it the thing is still going strong and on orig tranny and motor, as far as spending 8k just to *** it up, buy used and *** that up, and i hear ya all on the 15 yr olds just as bad as women , but i like my 636 and the ***** is fast in 1/4 bone stock, as for the 05 i don't like how they went to undertheseat exaust and the 10 style tail section, but the front looks sick. so i guess pretty much buy what ya like and want. My vote is for them all

Re: 636 or gsxr 600 04...
I've been on both, and I'd have to say I like the 03 gixxer better. My buddy has gone through 3 of the upper fairing brackets on his 04 gixxer. My 03 just seems a bit more stable. The 636 felt like it was going to fall apart every time it came up. Go with a gixxer or honda! My
