I went to an empty church parking lot and just kept going back and forth and finally got it kinda figured out. I didn't get it high and I couldn't ride it but it's a start and it was a blast!
that how-to post by f4rider was what really helped me get it. thanks man

yeah it took me awhile to start getting em higher on the 250. i would just dump the clutch @ 11k and it would come up but go down.. I kept forgetting to throw the throttle all the way open. good luck learning more!

congrats! Learning to do wheelies is a lot of fun. Just take your time....and always cover the rear brake(in case you start to loop, just hit the brake). It will save your butt!

Re: i did my first wheelie tonight
So how long was it from when you guys started riding until ya'll got the hang of doing a wheelie? I rode for my first time ever the first weekend of August. One friend tells me I'm trying to wheelie too soon and that I should get more riding time before I try again and another friend just told me to go for it. what's your guys' opinions?

i say just listen to ur instincts and if u REALLY wanna learn nothing anyone can say or do will stop you
i started doing wheelies like right when i got my bike and after about 2 weeks i could ride them out about a 1/2 mile but im sure its easier for me cuz im a cheater and have a liter bike
Re: i did my first wheelie tonight
I started riding about 4 months ago and am just now starting to get 1st gear BP for about 3-4 blocks.
Just take your time and learn at your own pace, things can go bad in a hurry if you get to excited ive had a couple close calls.
My sig isnt a BP wheelie but its one we got on film and only one i got hah
Heres a pic of me doing a wheelie 2 days after i got the bike :YEAH

thanks, theres a better pic in my photo gallery of it, it is very clean. it had fresh paint about 4000 miles ago, but yeah i layed it down on both sides now (**** happens) so its alittle scratched up but still in very good condition.
