Question help with sprocket

i ride an 03 R6 and i want to drop a tooth up front. Shops are telling me they dont even make a 15 tooth sprocket for my 532 stock chain. does it even matter if i get a 520 15 tooth sprocket and rock it with my stock chain, or do i have to convert to 520 everything???

Re: help with sprocket

Get the same size chain and sprocket. Don't take a chance by mixing it up

Re: help with sprocket

Hey you can get a 13 tooth front sprocket for your 03 r6, need to go to the specialists, go to http://www.sprocketspecialists.com/html/yamaha8.shtml

Then look for your model and it says a standard 532 which is stock chain you can have a front sprocket range from 13-17 and a rear from 37-52. These guys are good. I dropped 2 teeth on my 02 gsxr600, only can go to a 14. They had none in inventory to they made one for me, in the mail and will see it mon or tues.

Hope this helps out for any other people looking for custom sized sprockets.
Ya a suzuki dealer told me they can only get me a 15 which stock is 16 but I will also have to get the sprocket conversion kit from a 525 chain to a 520 or 530 which I would have had to buy my new front sprocket which would have only dropped 1 tooth then buy a new chain and rear sprocket.

Cost me $13 +tax for my front. Enjoy

The thickness in the chain is the difference. If you put a 520 next to a 530 chain. You will definitely see that the 530 is way thicker looking. I run a 530 chain.
As for the 532, I've never heard about it. But you said that they don't make the sprocket size you want on a 532 chain.

Solution's:

1. Wait a long time till they finally decide to make one.
2. Buy a 530 chain and the 530 sprocket.
3. Follow solution #2
