Re: flip up license plate
okay... this is super easy for about 30.00... u need a 12 volt door lock solenoid, wire, push button, hinge and a few assorted screws and bolts with nuts...
use the hinge to attach the plate to the undertail, drill a small hole in the license plate near the top of it then attach a piece of stiff wire through the hole (u want the hole near the top because the solenoid only has a throw of about 3/4" long) leave the wire about 10" long... then mount the lock solenoid somewhere under you tail section (where it's not very visible) and wire it to the battery and switch (in an easily accessible location or use the headlight flash switch on some of the newer bikes, this worked very well on my gixxer)... then attatch the solenoid to the plate with the length of wire... hit your button and plate is gone... hit button again and plate is back... u can get the solenoid u need at the junkyard for about 20.00 from any newer car, but the ford ones are the smallest and easiest to wire up... have fun, this is a super easy mod...

Do it that way then u dont have to reach back to flip it back down either. If you buy one already made its prolly made the same for hella $$$ anyway
