gear

I am looking for some input on a good jacket. I had a leather with armor, it was heavey and hot. I looked at the lighter Joe Rocket. Is this enough protection. Is there a better jacket that is good for all types of rides...Cheers

I have an AlpineStar with perforations in the front of the shoulders, removable armor, and removable liner. I love it.

my teknic jacket is the chicane model. with the pads removed is is pretty light and the entire front is perferated. plus it has zipper vents under the arms. also in the shoulders and elbows the leather is thicker so its still sumwhat padded for falling

That's what I got. It's pretty cool unless it's really hot outside. Mines been crash tested and approved also. I got mine from 1-888-Fastlap. I think that's the number. Marrieta Motorsports is the store. Paid like $260 I think.

I bought my full AGV Vortex 2-piece suit for around $400. It doesn't have a removable liner, but has some perfs in the front of the jacket.

I must say, it's amazingly cool. I've sat around my house in my suit and boots for a while (70* inside house) and I wasn't even sweating. And that's with Florida humidity. It's pretty warm in the winter time, too.

It's got lots of hard armor, but it can all be taken out. The fit is good, although a little baggy in the elbows due to armor. It took almost NO breaking in, either .. very supple, especially for 1.5mm leather.
