why so many WEAK stunnas???
Re: why so many WEAK stunnas???
I think because so and so that showed up and where weak stunters will make whoever is promoting that show think that they need to pay more money or do more homework before selecting a stunt team. It makes them think that not just anyone can come to a strip and look good it takes talent and real professionals, this will only make stunting get bigger. So I say to everyone go out and do stunt shows and make the pros look better and get paid more because they deserve it.

I can do wheelies...little stopies...burnouts...i sure aint no stunt rider...some guys just like the title i guess...i just like pissin around on my bike when im bored...i leave the 12's and gangsta spreaders for the pros. I cant afford to break my leg/bike/anything to try that ****. Maybe when i get my 50 i can 'stunt' it.

Re: why so many WEAK stunnas???
I see alot of threads in which teams speak about doin shows. It amazes me, cuz most of these riders arent that good.
MOST of the teams on stuntlife arent good enough to be doing shows, yet someone's paying them to do it. That means that promoters really dont know the difference between a good stunter and a weak one. Know what? Spectators dont either.
So then who's to say that the new jack stunt teams should sit the bench? I think they should, but thats just my opinion.

Me personally... I would never compete until I felt like my skillz were on lock. Not even in amateur. But I'll certainly pay the entry fee to go watch and support them.
Unless of course they suck all kinds of donkey ***** and I know it. If the winner of the longest endo contest busted out a 12 footer I'm gonna riot and get my money back.

hey.....to whoever started this thread----go ride your bike
it takes a lot to get a show set up, it takes even more to please everybody....i am clueless to who performed this show, and to tell you the truth, i could care less....but don't sit back and point fingers all over the internet...maybe you might be better...but you don't ever get out there to promote yourself...
if you don't promote your team, you skill, your sport----you don't have nothing but a **** talking mouth.

Typical Stuntlife Thread....
Instead of bashing these guys, why don't you help them. Go tell them some trade secrets. Spend time riding with them and influence their ability. Encourage them to practice. Tell them your seeing the stunt movement go into a certain direction and guide them.
My point... Don't be-little them because they're not as talented... or because they don't have as much time on a bike (as you). Instead, give them motivation and hand it to them for attempting to expose this sport. Any exposure is good exposure (good or bad). Stunting a streetbike is still stunting a streetbike and the general public doesn't know the difference between a regular wheelie and a 12 anyway.
Next time, help them out. They will appreciate your insight and it will only help move this sport move into a more professional direction.

In some ways I agree but you know it doesnt matter at this point, Like brian said a spectator doesnt know the diff between a 12 and a power wheelie.
Some teams out there may be lacking talent but have good marketing... thats why you see them doing shows. Some teams have huge talent but lack the marketing... or the drive to market.
IMO don't bitch about someone else doing a show if your not out there busting your *** riding and marketing yourself at the same time.
Shows arent given to you... you have to work for them. Even though some people may think different

and as far as wanting "professionals" to show up and do a show....yeah right....is that buisness going to pay another team to drive to the show and perform......yeah, possibly, but not the amount that the buisness wants to fork out.
i can't stand people that think this **** is so easy.

Re: why so many WEAK stunnas???
Look, I'm not saying that you should quit riding if your name isn't Kyle Woods. I realize guys get better... I'm gonna keep riding no matter how bad I suck because it's FUN. I just won't ask anyone to pay me or buy my videos...
I guess I just feel that if you're gonna stand up and declare yourself a pro, you should be obligated to come strong.
Maybe I just need to lighten up, maybe I'm jealous. I don't know....
I'll ride with anyone of any skill level. I have no problem with that. I'll be right there to pat a dude on the back for a 50' wheelie if his last one was 30'.
and if u got me faded I'll be the first to admit it.
I just saw an injustice and pointed it out. Opinions are like ******** right??

just cause your girlfriend gets scared when you stand on the pegs and let go of the handle bars, or when you do a brake stand, doesn't mean everyone is gonna think your "wicked good"

I just pretty much ride cuz it's what I love to do. But several weeks ago I had the misfortune of witnessing two "stunt shows" locally, here in Wisconsin. Two seperate "stunt teams" showed up to do their thing and frankly made complete asses of themselves. Their names will remain anonymous. (but you know who you are)
The main reason I have a problem with it is; Everyone here wants to see stunt riding blow up. And it is getting there, but as long as you knuckleheads keep parading your weak *** wheelies at motorsports events and masquerading as "stunt riders" it's never gonna happen.
How in the hell are the top level riders supposed to get their foot in the door?
I can see promoters being turned off when their only exposure to the sport was a miserable performance by the XYZ stuntriders......
They will look the other way because they'll say,
"nope we've seen "street extreme" we tried it and it sucks, now go away."
I can't stand watching a bunch of clowns who couldn't hold my jock claim to be professionals! I wouldn't dream of promoting myself in a stunt show for a 9 year-olds birthday party, let alone a major event!
So I'm begging everyone to take a good look in the mirror and decide what you are and what you're not. And make peace with it.
It's time to let those who can take stunting to the next level carry the torch.... -peace

Very understandable. There are only a handful of very talented riders out there. There are a lot of stunters that are a jack of all tricks, master of none. But those handful of riders out there, are perfectionists, and those will be the ones leading the charge as far as skill. I rather know one trick really well and master it then know 4 or 5 and don't look like I have control or "make it look easy" sort of speak.
just my opinion
