i think it blown
i think it blown
heres the story today i was out riding me and a few of my friends i pulled like a 3 mile wheelie down the highway (which i have done before so its nothing different), when i set it down it was revin kinda high but not limiter, my friend behind me said there was a lot of smoke when i set it down, it didnt make any noise or run different, so we stopped at a gas station and when i started the bike up it just poured smoke out of the pipe but still not makein any noises or diein out. i took the top off the engine and there was some oil in the airbox, i thought it might be the valves or the rings but i'll look more tomorrow.
i just wanted to know if anyone knew what it could be.
thanks -Jesse

Re: i think it blown
Maybe when the bike came down the valves slapped hard and brok a guide or something. you also may not notice if you valves are bent as sometimes its just enough to make it off. I would say get a valve job when its apart do the rings and your done

I'd bet a buck or two that it's ok. If you've already hurt the motor (Top End [valves]) then you're probably not going to hurt it worse by running it for a couple minutes. If the piston rings or pistons themselves were hurt it's possible to do more damage but I don't think a wheelie should have hurt the pistons or rings. If you did then it's probably gonna need a total re-build anyway.

I would fire it up for a little while and see if the smoke clears up. If it starts making any noise or the warning light comes on then shut it down.

What he said.

its fine as much as i want to sell you a motor yours is fine. That happened to me when i used to actually ride my bike on the freeway, all i did was clean up the oil out of airbox and air filter. Let it run and the smoke will clear up.
