Re: Think about this
had to come back to this cuz i just remember how i've witnessed a extreme sport die already, and i'm only 22.
my first experience w/ a "extreme" sport was aggressive inline skating. i was young (early jr. high years) and the **** took off. skates and tricks were popping up everywhere, x games followed quickly. companies sprouted wheels, gear, clothes, skates, grind plates, bearings, blah, blah, blah. time went on comps, sponsors, and **** were everywhere and even w/ all that it still died. skaters got pissed at the comps, judges, etc. and eventually boycotted the x games. they kept it real and sabotaged the sport in the process. this is no different. it also reminds me of real hip hop, what you may refer to as "underground". these cats push envelopes in language, poetry, production, and anything else you can think of that's musically inclined. yet they are hated on by Clear Channel for the "crowd pleasers" or "pop gimmicks" of the industry. Most rappers don't even write their own lyrics much less make their own beats, yet they get paid time and time again for promoting ghetto bullshit. Clear Channel made fmx happen, they could have done the same for stunt riding. I don't see what's so hard to comprehend about that. It's the facts of life. They run everything. Find me something that says otherwise and maybe I'll quit slandering them every chance I get, but until them I will continue to bring to light the negative aspects of a monopoly.

X-GAMES............. I know easier said than done but that would bring stunting to whole new level for those who want pro and not street. It was easy for motorcross X-overs due to them already having sponsors and backers but they did it. Tony D I agree that I would like to see stunting on that level, for **** sake we all know that with the skill involved we should and I dont even compete in compotitions, I cant right know due to my job but when I'm not doing this job anymore which is a year from now I would love to try for sponsorship and work towards pro. We are getting some headway look at super streetbike magazine but then again nobody is getting any big time sponsors either. If we could someway think of a way to fill a X-Game slot I think that would be it. The public loves this **** we just need to figure a better way to bring it to them. Thats just my

relax guys, eventually its gonna happen.if flat land trick bicycling and all that garbage is in the x-games we will definitly be there wether we ride streets or comps. but remember once it happens every one and there mother are gonna be labeled sell outs.theres no way around the money.and for all of those who say i dont care about money
thats bullsh!t. cuz if somone would pay you to ride, you would take the paycheck with a smile.

From my experience I have always learned that patience is a virtue, everyone continues to do what they love and have fun with it and make the best of every situation, then the worst that can happen is you end up doing something that you enjoy, the best thing is,well the possibilities are endless. I definately hear and feel what Tony D is saying. The only thing I can say is keep pushing and stay in the game cause you enjoy every bit of it.
Re: Think about this
Too bad John Kerry didnt bust a coaster or scrape a highchair at the DNC. That'd been pretty sweet. Dubya, in order to pull out this election, I highly suggest workin on your stuntin skills to persuade stuntlife.com.
BTW, why are there no rich stunnas?

Ryan I so agree.. I was going to post the same thing and I seen you posted it... So I am going to back you on this one..
Most of these people on this thread are talking about taking it to the X-Games and the next level... How many were at the XSBA Supporting it... Not that many I was there.. and there was hardly any people besides the people who were competeing and even then it wasnt that many people... Now look no more XSBA.... People are always crying they want something.... When we had it, There should have been hunderd of stunters. Even if they couldnt win but they could have came and supported it.. And then this year we could have had more shows in bigger cities.. And possibly it could have been just stunt competitions not riding in between races... So stop all the FUC*ing whining when we have something in our hands support it...

It's all about this one simple question: Being a part of this sport and having been involved for some time, If you won 10 million dollars, would you invest it all (not some, but ALL) in this sport thinking it was a good investment and that you could double or triple your investment, or would you do something else with it?
If the answer is no, do something else with it and you are a part of it, what do you think people with 10million who aren't a part of it are thinking.

Re: Think about this
I am no pro, but love this "so called" sport.
I make dam good money at my job (computers) but I lost the passion...
But, what if I run with this and take street/sport bike freestyle nationally? Will anyone get behind a "nobody" since you only know me from here???
I have been working on ideas for a while and one thing scares me. Two groups, NSRA and XSBA came and went. Why no schedule for 2004 when we are past the half-year mark? Why no rules, even though I found a copy of XSBA's through a google search....
I can and will build something if you want it. I am not out for the money, but someone will call me a sellout someday if I have a nice house or a Benz..... Once I investigate what happened with those groups and why it looks like they aren't around anymore, I will make my decision. I will not invest my heart into something that people are going to tear down. This sport needs bricklayers, not a demolition crew.....
I am confident and dedicated to making this very visible to the masses. Just look at how TV is evolving. The past 10 years has been nothing but reality shows. Now it's more about "custom bikes, cars, etc....." that show real tangible talents, and some add family feuding for ratings....
People respect individuals of the arts. Don't think that being a painter or a monkey wrench for $10 bux an hour is lame. You guys have skills that others desire or have a lack of understanding. YOU are the real people of this world; watch Fight Club repeatedly to get a better understanding why REALLY runs this world.
More NASCAR, Moto GP, Indy, Drag, and NOPI, import car shows......
Like I said, I can make this happen. I just need the good people behind me, because I have met very good people out of this sport and appreciate the friends that I made over the past two years. These friends will be true friends for years to come.
Be save, Godspeed.....

Um it seems that your all in your own little world or something. The rest of the Planet has been at this a long time. There are international comps setup and people everywhere attend.

http://www.craigjones.com/stunt-championships.html
why not contact some of these guys about bring it here. i mean Buell Did really well and they are AMerican I am sure they would rather sponser a US event. But as far as the rest of the Entire Planet is concerned a guy on a Ducati is the world Champion.

contact em and see what can be done. Even though we are the world leader in just about everything does not mean were the first in everything. Have any stunt teams on here aside from Star boys done shows outside the US?

I have love for Craig but he doesn't hold the World record on Stoppies anymore....
You made a good point also, we in the US are being to closed minded. There are many countries rocking out, way before we were....

Re: Think about this
word up.
like I said earlier. clear channel and xsba could've carried this sport on it's back all the way to the top. instead they went the cheap way. low purse, no advertisement, no tv coverage, etc, etc. the part that kills me is they own most of that **** and could've utilized those resources to make it happen. of course no one's going to show up if you don't promote/advertise. where people supposed to be telepathecally attracted to an event that happens in the corner of a raceway in an are marked off w/ cones and yellow tape? what did they expect stunt riders to gather up a traveling band of roadies and travel 1000's of miles to all their events? in the process spend more money on traveling expenses then you can win at the event. not to mention most riders investment into their bike, transport vehicle, trailer, etc. etc. etc. **** skateboarding, snowboarding, surfing, blah blah blah all have competitions where they can win substantial amount of money, sometimes there's even a car or truck to win.
another thing that needs to come to a hault is charging competitors twice as much as spectators. WE ARE THE SHOW. that's like asking Tom Cruise to pay his way onto movie sets. of course the riders are going to backlash against peeps trying to capitalize off us.
let us look at reality tv. fear factor, hot chicks eating pigs ***. FOR A SHOT AT $50,000!!! if they can pay $50,000 each show to the winner, plus the expenses of setting up those stunts, someone can afford to set up a real stunt event. and when they do it will probably be some scripted bullshit, complete with drama and commercials. which is cool w/ me, except my loud mouth excluded me from being casted for said show, cuz they know i would blow the horn every chance i got.
america is full of gimmicks, that's why this industry isn't working. what were doing isn't fake, so people can't grasp it.

XSBA was not the perfect answer, but dam, at least it was something.
What do we got right now as far as a national competition series?---
Whats up with NSRA?
We are smart enough to pick up the ball and run with it ourselves, arent we. We dont have anyone holding our hands anymore.WHY??
Whats up with all of theese one hit wonder competitions, Its like a magic show, now ya see em and now ya dont.
This sport needs a push foward, and that push needs to come from all of you who care about this thing and start promoting the right thing.
If not, we will most likely spin our wheels forever.
The streets will always be the streets so let them be the streets.
Im not saying not to rip the streets --Everybody dose their ****.
All the old school vids were the streets, that **** was cool and a great time of my life but the game has changed alot since then, Im still from the streets and I rely on the streets to survive every day.
I have lost too many friends and been watching this sport teeter totter back and forth for a long time now. Some even longer than me that had to retire already.
Even though were stuntriders, we should start thinking about what we are doing.
Are we going to move foward as a group or are we going to linger around like a 10 minute fart, while nothing gets done.
How about the dudes that wrote the constitution, what if they kept it gangsta. And never fought to make things better? and kept drilling at the dark side of things.
Come on now--- dont miss the boat

you couldn't have said it any better do it because you love to do it push the sport when you can if something happens then something happens if not then at least your doin something you love to do and are having fun doin it with your team or all your boys or yourself. people aren't ridin for the fun or love of it anymore they're to worried about being the best and making all the money if anything thats a big reason why this sport wont go anywhere and trust me nothin else would make me happier to see it go somewhere
