Anyone run aluminum sprockets?

I was going to go 1 down, 4 up on my RR, but the only rear sprocket I could get that big aluminum. I figure that aluminum sprockets wouldn't last very long the way we ride. I know some of you use them, how long do they usually last?

Chain condition has alot to do with killing an aluminum sprocket. Keep it lubed and adjusted and you should be fine. I sheered 17 th off my 44 th aluminum sprocket last summer but it was due to chain neglect. I have had the new one on all summer with no problems this year.
