Guess you guys need permits
Guess you guys need permits
About 2 months ago, I decided that I was gonna set up for my first stunt team our first stunt show! So I talked to our guys at Club Celebrations (A nightclub), let them know what I wanted to do. Gave them 3 different dates, all on weeks following each other in June (5th, 12th, & 19th).
So rather then actually start planning and booking the show then, I decided to wait and set up a HUGE show in a month! Sort of a prestige thing. A month goes by after I tell our guys at Club Celebrations what's up. I pick a date (June 12th), then I start working over time. Making phone call after phone call, running all over town, waiting 4 hours just for a 10 minute meeting. I wanted the show to be HUGE! The Disturbed Riders are here with a Bang! Ya know? We had Scooter Trash coming out for a stunt show, we had like half of the Detroit riders coming out, a bunch coming down from saginaw. We were even trying to get at least one of the Cops's motorcycle Division out for a demostration! When I heard about the amount of people that were coming, I blew a nut I was so damn happy!
So I decided to step it up a notch, got out my little phone book and called up comcast spotlight and got a TV commercial for it. Got cumulous broadcasting on the phone, got a huge radio ad campaign set up for it!
Ultimitly we were unable to get radio advertising as we ran out of funds. This show was largely being payed for out of my own pocket up to this point. But we did get our commercial up! The Disturbed Riders First Annual "Flint Wig Split"
So everything is going really good. We're getting in really good with the club. Word of mouth is being spread pretty good. Hell, the whole city seemed to be abuzz about our show! I couldn't be happier. About a week before the show, some personal problems hit me and I seemed to lose steam. I lost valuable time because of this. But I got my **** together a few days later, only to get slammed in the face AGAIN! By who you ask?......
CLUB CELEBRATIONS!
The bastards who were supposed to be working with me the entire time. The ones who knew about our show 2 months in advance. The ones who knew all about the rules and regulations governing them, stuck a knife in my back. They told me LAST NIGHT that we needed a permit for the show. And it's a 3 month wait on the thing. But somehow, I think they knew that. I think the capitalized on my hard work. I think they capitilized on all the TV advertising we got them, all the sub-radio ad's we got them (I knew the DJ's, they talked about our show whenever they could), all the flyers, all the word of mouth! They took all that from me and back away from their end of the deal at the last minute!
Oh but they still have a stunt-less stunt show for us now. We'll get a beer tent. A hot dog vendor. Some chairs outside to sit down on. A nice little area roped off for the bikes, so everyone can stand around and stare at them. But no stunts.
Sorry for the rant. Had to vent about our bullshit promoters.

seriously, f$ck em, everyone hit that ish hard, and just murder there lot, the street in front, everything....
some people will prolly get arrested, but just get really good video of everything start to finish, it would make a great hardcore stunt lifestyle video...

I'm not scurred Re: Guess you guys need permits
we had a similiar situation except my team was the riders, not the event cordinator...basically Geared up was hired to perfom in ATL. got there only to have the fukn PO PO shut it down due to permits...the cordinator being smart sd,,yo *** this, lets take it to the practice spot. next thing you know the show continued in an abandoned parking lot off the highway. turned into a big *** barbaque stunt frenzy. it totally worked out..though he lost some admission money. it was fun as hell. dont waste your advertisement and dont let them capitalize on it..leave someone at the club sending everyone to the other spot.
Re: Guess you guys need permits
that sucks....what kind of permit were they saying you had to have?
and FYI....wigg split fest has already been used by other teams. it was an event already in chicago by IBWS "wigg splitters".

I wanted to avoid the word "Extreme" at all cost. So when I heard Darius talking about a "wigg split fest", I thought it was perfect! :YEAH
I'm just stealing everyone's good ideas
