dude you have to be able to accept both street riding and competition riding, the sport gets exposure and new riders which we all like to see through competition and public events. i think the more competitions there are, then the more people wont think we are just some crazy ******** out tearin up the streets. i love competitions and cant wit till im good enough to be able to ride with the pros, until then, ill stay on the streets and beef my skills up, you cant hate on either type of riding, we all start on the street and strive to be able to ride competition.

I've been shot at and chased with all sorts of things. I guess that gives me the right to dog the sport, right??? So you grew up the city, huh?? So did a lot of the stunterz on this board, but I don't see any of them talking meaningless bullshit about all the respect and recognition that everyone here has worked so hard to achieve. Damn, bro, don't you have something better to do, like learning to walk and chew gum at the same time???

Dude..what the hell are you saying. That we should keep this sport underground?

First off, yeah, riding streets is still holding **** down old school. Thats where it started, but why would you wanna keep it there? Anything that remains stagnant long enough will die. Even though it is held in the heart and mind of the individual, realistically speaking....it's dead. Commercialization is one of the best things that could happen to this sport. Back when i started riding there were no companies making crash cages or scrape bars. That all came about through commercialization, the construction of a market for these items. The only way a market can be constructed is by educating the general public about the sport.

How organized is one or two dudes jacking wheelies down a lonely strip of road for locals? Granted, i still enjoy this and its what i do most, when you organize an event where people become educated about the sport (such as XSBA, Stunt Wars, Englishtown Wheelie Contest etc.) it sparks interest in the general public. The general public is the group thats gonna build the foundation for advancement...not the local crowd hanging down at the spot. Now like i said, i am all about keeping **** back alley style, jacking wheelies on straights (WITHOUT TRAFFIC) on the highway, or rolling em up to lights, but by no means am i gonna leave it at that.

Make no mistake either, its not about money, no one is gonna see money from this sport, maybe our grandkids will. Its all about blowing **** up. Its about taking the best stunters, putting them in one spot, and seeing whos the best. Rules or no rules, if you truly love the sport then the rules are just coincidental.

No its not bro, i live in Dirty Jerzy. Underground, Loose Riders, Ruthless, hell the Ruff Ryders are over here alot too. Everytime i ride, my **** furred out, dented in tank with grip pad on it, people know whats up...i give them what they want. Crank it up for em, roll one up to a light next to them....

Let me ask you something? Why do they know whats up? Because theres sooooo many stunters round here doing there thing on the streets? Hell no....i'll be lucky if i go out on a sunday afternoon in the summer and see someone jack a standup wheelie even. The know whats up because of stunt videos, stunt groups in music videos, and stunt competitions in their local area. Thats ALL CALLED commercialization. ****...half of the people i know see me do something and they'll be like "Oh ****...i saw that in a DMX video" once again....commercialization.

As for the gear issue at competitions....it's called liability. Even if you were to sign a waiver some ******* would find a way to say "Well they should have implemented stronger safety rules." amd sue them.

Look at professional skateboarding competitions, all the events require the riders to wear safety gear, no one gives a hoot if they wear it or not while praticing...but come event time you're gonna see everyone wearing a helmet at least. Same goes for all competitions of the same caliber.

Now I don't want to sound like an *** here, but from reading your last 2 threads that you started it seems to me that you're trolling for attention.

Red face im so tired of misinformed people dissing the XSBA

the XSBA corporate takeover ehh??

You have no idea. Educate yourself about the XSBA then speak up.

All the XSBA does is provide a stable format for riders to earn a living, get sponsors and gain mainstream respect doing what they love....bottom line

Leather suits? No comment (educate yourself)
Competitions not real?? Ask a competitor

you have just insulted the best riders in the nation, the ones that actually take the time and compete in the national series.

In addition, you have just insulted me.... The NY Thug who happens to manage the XSBA and loves to stunt....

with that being said, have a nice day!

Thomas

if tha xsba is so good why do so many already established groups shy away?????? and its not good to try and make this a clean family sport that makes money---this was founded on the street illegally and is still illegal---car street racing is illegal and tha nhra makes mad money do u think it will ever b as popular????? this sport will never b basketball for me its funny to see sum 18year old think they run it---ask them what stunting means to them--is it fame or money either way its wrong--its sumthing in your heart that u should not need any respect from a trophy--it should b in u

The only reason you get the responses you do is you come off attacking the commercialization of the sport. You said it yourself Geiststar, there's still street racing while the NHRA does their thing. Well, XSBA can do their shiznit and you can keep doing it on the street. Do what you want and let others do the same. That's my .02
