Re: 929/954 question

if they are both the same then why does the 954 tank slap so much worse than a 929?

Re: 929/954 question

well, there is a somewhat simple solution. pick up a bike magazine that did a review on 929 and one that did one on 954. they post all that rake/trail in them when they review them. i think cyclemag does that. i think the 54 is designed to be more twitchy for sharper steering. i think that means more rake, not sure....but i know it's more twitchy than a 929...

The 954 tank slap more becose this thing on my drawing is more thinner that 929. You can change it to a stronger one and the problem should be fixed.

Re: 929/954 question

That's the steering stem, dont think it would have much to do with tankslappers, I believe it's twitchy because it's a little lighter in the front end and the body positioning is diffrent, also might have to do with the 954 frame stiffer than the 929, most of the wieght that was lost on the 954 came from the motor, swingarm and rims.

Re: 929/954 question

'02 954's had a steering stem bearing recall too. if the recall work hasn't been done, its alot more prone to headshake.
