NASTY crash at Chicago spot...

I did not witness this event myself, but from what I hear it went something like this.

Some chick (Val) came out to the spot w/ her friends and her sisters Raptor. She proceeded to race herself across the parking lot, 5th gear pinned. She apparently forgot the parking lot ended and carried a whole bunch of speed into the curb at the end of the parking lot (35mph +). After said curb there is a small section of grass that decends into a pond. Val launched off curb and quad about 200 ft into the pond, quad follows her. Scott C. dives in pond to rescue floating girl. She was alive and not in the best of shape, no apparent injuries like broken legs or other extremidies though. She was driven to the hospital to check for internal injuries, hopefully she is OK. I will post more info as/if I recieve it. Quad was at bottom of pond until towstraps and a blazer yanked it out. There are pictures of the quad afterwards, but no pics/footage of the crash itself.

be careful out there. make sure peeps know what there doing when on fast machinery. show em the brakes, and how they work.

Re: NASTY crash at Chicago spot...

damn, that sucks bad. that's why i'm slowly allowing my girl to go faster....cause she doesn't need to just take it and go pinning the thing full speed and hurt herself until she can ride it good.

keep up updated.

Re: NASTY crash at Chicago spot...

Back in january, I let a friend of a friend ride my bike down at a spot in palm beach. He did the same thing, pinned all the way through 4 gear, ran out of parking lot, couldn't stop and highsided. Waded up my subframe and rear section of my bike. motherfhaker never paid me, but I called him out at a party recently, and the lil biatch ran out the back door, jumped over a fence and ran into the woods . . . atleast I know he's living in fear :YEAH . . . I hope that girl is ok man, its a crappy thing to watch, I can't imagine going through it . . . def give everyone new out to your spot a heads up on whats where and how long/short things are . . .

Re: NASTY crash at Chicago spot...

i was supposed to go down there with curtis after the north side spot, but im a sally. ahh well, it was only a matter of time till someone launched into that pond. most people are smart enough to stop before the curb, or crash trying. . im sure the owner of the place, who was pissed about burnouts, would love to see the quad in the middle of that pond.

Re: NASTY crash at Chicago spot...

Damn....I hope she recovers, and then I hope one of you guys slaps her upside the head. WTF makes some people do something like pin the throttle on a bike/quad when they apparently don't know what's ahead of them? If I go to a new spot, I ride around it, getting to know the distance from what to where, the texture of the pavement, any angles/irregularities.....and this is why. I'd have known the curb was there, and would have already picked a last-ditch spot where if I'm not on the brakes by now, I know I need to be. I'm not trying to sound like mr know it all, but at least be safe about it huh?

Re: NASTY crash at Chicago spot...

check it out, this girl was haulin ***' topped out fifth gear, and tried to lock up the back brakes about 15 feet or so from the curb. i was about 10 feet from the curb when i watched her nail the ten inch curb and launch the raptor about 50 feet out into the middle of this retention pond, she landed about 15 feet into the water. it was the craziest **** i have ever seen! oger and i watched this raptor sink with the taillamp still shining under water! after i pulled ol' girl from the water, me and this other dude swam out to the four wheeler that had sunk to the bottom already. i was able to touch it with my toes, so it was about nine or ten feet under water sitting upside down on water bottom. i dove under with some tie straps and fished that bitch out. that girl was f-d up, she had to have internal type **** wrong with her!
