How fast did you progress when you started stunting?
How fast did you progress when you started stunting?
Did you have any expience on dirtbikes or did you just pick up a sportbike and start wheeling down the street?Did it take you a while to learn or did everything come to you fast?
Re: How fast did you progress when you started stunting?
I've been stunting for about 3 years now. Every day I look on stuntlife and there're guys who have been riding for 3 months pulling off better tricks than me. Ive been ridng dirt bikes for a long long time too.
Re: How fast did you progress when you started stunting?
I have no dirt experience at all and just got my F4 in June of 03, I started riding basic wheelies at the end of June or early July and by September I was riding highchairs and tank wheelies in second gear with a 600 -1 with a slipon. I think it is just in how bad u want it and much time u put in.
Re: How fast did you progress when you started stunting?
I started out with a '00 929 with no riding experience at all in Nov. of '02. I stayed on both wheels for a while and SLOWLY started with first-gear wheelies. I have only been stuntin' for about 8 months and I am still SLOWLY progressing.
Re: How fast did you progress when you started stunting?
Ive been stuntin like 11 months. Took me 3 weeks on a bike to be able to touch tail and ride nice slow wheelies. (rode a quad for a while, no dirt bikes).
all on how bad you want it.

Re: How fast did you progress when you started stunting?
got my 1st bike summer of '01 started stuntin bike week '02 with no previous experience on anything and i can do a few tricks now
its all about when, where, and how you start.....i rode with joe brown for a year in daytona so my goals we're to be the best, but i started when there were only about 10-15 people in the country who could scrape and the tricks were limited, if you start now your tricks are endless back then everyones expectations were'nt as high so riders didn't push themselves at such a competitive level similar to newer riders of today
my boy jc who rode bicycles growing up learned my 2 years of tricks in 1 year, with the basic fundamentals of bike control from the bicycle every mistake he made i showed him the right way and the next time out he had it perfect

Re: How fast did you progress when you started stunting?
Its all how bad you want it and how much time youre willing to dedicate to it! Its just like any other sport, you have to get out and practice! I rode dirt for 10 plus years and it only took me 3 weeks to find the balance point on my bike and be able to keep a wheelie going. My brother on the other hand has very little dirt experience and he's been riding for 2 years and he's just now learning stand-ups and to keep the bike at the BP. So, I guess it has a little bit to do with experience and talent on a bike prior to riding a streetbike. Some people are just more comfortable on a motorcycle than others and some are just naturals............
Re: How fast did you progress when you started stunting?
What helps too is the area you live in. I moved from cheyenne,wy to where you can only ride like four months out of the year. I could only do normal stands ups. I moved to az and bam i was like rocking real slow **** an combos like nothin before in no time at all cause i could ride all winter, anytime. But this summer is going to be a hot bi*ch so i can only ride at night but i still can ride.
Re: How fast did you progress when you started stunting?
I've been riding on two wheels for about 10 years, but just starting stunting about a year ago. I suck. I think it gets harder with the longer you wait and the older you get. The expearance from those 250,000+ miles on two wheels helps a lot with survival, but I can't say the same for speed of picking up new tricks.

Re: How fast did you progress when you started stunting?
i picked up the basics like wheelies and stoppies in a couple of months of getting a bike. i rode and raced dirtbikes but never tried to wheelie on it till i got a streetbike, its alot harder, 2 strokes are to touchy.
Re: How fast did you progress when you started stunting?
Another thing Ive noticed, people who learn on better stunting bikes seem to pick everything up faster than people who learn on old pieces of crap. ANd riding with people who are better than you helps alot too.

Stoppies just came easy, I started at like 30mph and before a weeknd was over I was roll'n one hander's pretty far and low chairs(highchairs) high.
Balence trick's are the same way
but weelies it's taken lot's of practice to do what i can (not to much by todays standerds)
NEED BALTIMORE STUNTER'S

.. Mad props, but thats why they call you nasty

I used to drive heavy weight streetbikes. You don't learn **** about stunting. One problem is also that I was too scared to scratch those bikes. Then I got 650 enduro. Holy ****. BP found easy. Shifting. even stoppies(brake sucks on that bike). After that it was much easier to do with streetbike too. One reason was too, that with enduro I was popping those wheelies everywhere and all the time. If you do a 1 powerwheelie per week, you don't learn ****..
But I still suck, I need streetbike which is light, and has no value to me..

For me it's all about falling...
I have been riding for close to 4 years now (I think)
I have attempted to wheelie but they never look good. Infact they still happen by accident for me....
I have even tried to endo once or twice... but I feel kinda like a retarded kid, learning to ride a bicycle...
It's all wrong... I lock the front wheel and all I can picture is flying over the bars.
So lets. just say it's gonna be a long LONG PROCESS...
I guess I should just let the pro's do what they do and stick to corners.

Re: How fast did you progress when you started stunting?
It took me a month to start "surfing" my Katana 600. Then after totalling that I got my gixxer. I started to learn pretty quick on that until I got tank slappers @ 80 after a wheelie and ended up breaking my collarbone. After 2 surgeries and months of healing, I was still a lil weirded out about riding/stunting.<----lived in Houston Texas
As of right now, I'm working on saftyin my **** up(cage, more sliders) before I start again. Oh and I live in Nebraska right now, so not as good weather.
