Yeah bro...Bash from Underground has something similar to that on his 900rr. You might wanna fabricate a single bracket or many similar to that. The way bash does it, is he ran a bar from the frame slider mounting point on the left side, across the case cover, down to a frame mounting bolt i believe.

Looks like a good way to chop your head off! I've neutraled out a stand up before and my throat hit the windshield when I came down. Hurt like hell. With that screen things could get ugly in hurry!

D if you need extended sliders we got a guy machining them local. They're sick and work killer. Here's a pic of the standard size he makes but no trip to get them a little longer.

I hear you about the 929. I've had the same problems been through 3 stator covers, 3 uppers, 2 headlights and 2 swingarms.

They are pricey, but the with # of covers you guys have already been through and the $$ you paid for them, you might @ well think about using either the Factory Pro Cover(http://www.factorypro.com/Prod_Pages/prodh92.html) or the HRC Billet Covers? Either one it MUCH stronger then the stock covers.

Just my $0.02.
