leaking caps
leaking caps
I recently dented the tank in on my gixxer 750 and now it leaks.....and let me just say that gaz on the az is not fun
. so, i would like to know if anyone has had success fixing the seal of the cap...the tank is pretty mangled from me trying to fix it.....would a vortex cap help?

I agree, that does help, but in my case it still came out where the actual cap is....jb quick did minimize it though
Re: leaking caps
it's not warm enough to try it here yet(soon i hope) but i'm going to try and put washers between the tank and cap pedistals. that would pull the cap tighter against the tank and make it seal better. some one try this if they get a chance, i don't see why it wouldn't work.

just buy a damn vortex cap it should fix it, mine was dented with one on it. When I bought the tank it did'nt come with a cap so i used the stock one and no leaks.
Re: leaking caps
oh lol i'm so sorry. i didn't even think about the fact that gas would dissolve the silicon. my bad i'm a stupid ***. how come a vortex cap fixes ****? whtas different about it. again NO ONE LISTEN TO ME, i wasn't thinking at all
Re: leaking caps
went to the hardware store and got a toilet bowl flapper......cut it to fit the cap and i think i got it....still needs to be tested but it looks good to me..... :YEAH
