F it.....(about sprockets)
F it.....(about sprockets)
Ok I've read more than enough times on how you should learn 12's or slow stuff on the stock gearing just cuz it's easier when you do get sprockets. Is there anyone who went straight to different gearing? How does it differ?
Re: F it.....(about sprockets)
Yeah I learned on stock, but only for a day and then went to a 18 up back and there is very little change in the speed of your slow wheelies and a big change in your speed on the road. You can try it I thought it was worth a try to me but all I did was waste $150 on a sprocket and chain.. If you want to gear your bike my suggestion is to not go with a big change like that... It isnt that you wont be able to do what you want to going to a big sprocket (as in you wont be able to handle it), cause you can adjust to any setup, I did without any problems, just take it slow at first, but you will lose the road speed so if you dont plan on riding your bike any distance and dont want to do anything at a high speeds which can be fun at times to then go for it but I had the big sprocket on for about 4 days and it just wasnt worth the topend speed i lost and trust me I'm really am not into going real fast or racing thats just my
save your money and learn it stock or at least close to stock 1-2 down in front and maybe 2-4 up in the back. Oh well you live and learn at least I got a new chain out of it

I leared to 12 w/ -1 +2....then went to 11up and was 100 x better..then went -1 +11, and now I'm -2 +11 and love it.
Learning w/ -1 +2 was stupid hard because I was doing everything kinda fast which messed w/ my head cause I was out of my comfort zone I guess. I never liked any wheelies faster than 70mph even when I started.
It's simple to learn w/ mad gears. makes it easy to bring the bike up from a stop. so the throttle is more responsive, but if you do it w/ the idle up then you can afford to be sloppy w/ the throttle a little. Just sack up and gear it. start w/ a +10 or so and if you want more then start dropping front teeth.
