Gixxer idle adjustment

I have an 03 600 and since I put my new sprockets on my choke lever won't idle the bike enough to do anything like let go or what not. I have done a search on idle adjustment cables and came up with some of the guys that need this use a idle stop screw from a 2000 750. I am ok with this. My question is does it come out under the tank like the 600rr's do and if I buy the one from suzuki will I have to modify anything to get it on there? If you have to modify with the one from suzuki has anyone tried the one from honda? I work in a honda dealership thats why I am asking.

Thanks,
Ryan

Re: Gixxer idle adjustment

Why add a new cable when you can adjust the fast idle? Using the fast idle is alot more convenient than always having to turn a ****. The only reason to add the adjustment cable with the little **** is if you have an 02+ 750 or 02+ 1k that doesnt have a fast idle lever. Pull the two allan bolts at the front of the tank and the two bolts that hold your seat on and prop the tank up. Look on the left side of the throttlebodies where the fast idle cable attaches to the tbodies. There is a fast idle adjustment screw. Start the bike, put the fast idle (what you are referring to as the choke) lever wide open and adjust that screw until the rpms are where you want them.

Re: Gixxer idle adjustment

I can hook you up with an idle adjuster for short $. Factory bolt on part. A must have to easily change the idle speed by twisting a ****.

Re: Gixxer idle adjustment

just adjust the high idle cable so when it is pulled in the bike will rev higher.

The idle adjust cable from a 98-99 SRAD should be adirect bolt on.

I run a cable and bracket off of a 00 Busa. Threads right in and you can bolt it to the rear bolt on the coolant overflow tank. Just put a little notch in your fairing and it sticks up right in front of your left knee. Works perfect.

What up Movistar, It's Ryan from 905. About that stop screw question it's just a long cable type screw that just come out from under the gas tank after I hooked it up. It's easy, all I did was took out the stock idle screw and screwed in the stop screw.

Re: Gixxer idle adjustment

I know for a fact that an idle cable of of an r6, 900rr, or older style gixxer will bolt right in so you can adjust it whenever you want.

yes, if you want your bike to idle at 4000 rpms when the fast idle (looks like a choke) lever is all the way open, then follow the directions in my previous post. The fast idle lever has fine adjustment screw on the throttlebodies.
