98-01 R1 stunnin' - subframes??

I heard that 98-01 R1's werent good to stun w/ cause the subframes were a part of the frame, not just bolted to the frame. Is this true? I tried searching the site for info, bu found nothing? So if i understand it right, if you need a new subframe, hopefully it didnt bend the frame also, but you'll need to cut and weld a new one on? Thanks in advance bro's

yea, the R1 subframes.. all of them, are weak as hell.

the 98-01's are welded to the frame, so bending the subframe technically "totals" the bike. dragging tail on the R1 is an excercise in frustration. besides which, if it's pre-02, within 2-3 seconds of getting onto the tail, the bike is gonna stall out on you.. so make sure you have the clutch pulled in.

Yea, when Darius use to only really ride the older R1's, at least from what i know, when he started tail scrapin' the R1's he seemed to stop riding R1's and went to honda, guessing that why he did. He did pull some nice tail scrapes with the older R1 though. :YEAH
