Stunting a Superhawk?
Stunting a Superhawk?
OK I'm thinkin about what I should get for my next stunt bike. I had an SV650S and I loved the smooth torque curve and I don't think I'll like the power curve of the I4s. Can I get some pros and cons from yas out there.
Yup, they're torquey, couple of guys here use them and they handle pretty good if you're used to it. Bad thing=carburation. One guy was riding on Deals Gap and it kept boggin down and stalling on him in slow turns
Very solid stunt bike. Have a buddy that rocks one like its his day job. beats the poo out of that bike (has like 30,000 miles on it himself) just rock'n wheelies and twisties, track days you name it. Pretty impressive. I wouldn't buy one my self but if you like the v twin go for it.

Hey Sveer, Take it from me, I loved my Hawk,(the skunk bike) but they are way two heavy and way to much torque for slow ****.Open highway they're the **** and for tank and highchairs too. But thats it.
The rear carb is at a degree so that no matter what you do it will always starve for fuel. I talked to a couple of mechanics about working the carbs and you can't tweek the float level cause they're plastic and you can't adjust the pitch of the entire carb, won't run like that.
Endos suck (even with steel lines). Bad brake set up. Weak!
They are about 50-75lbs heavier than a 900 or 929.(not to mention about 6" longer). When we were all down at the spot this summer the slowest I could do throtless was like 15-20mph and that was at like 5500rpms. You can't get the bike straight up and down, it will die everytime. And then you whined up with jammed wrists, they suck!!! That's why I got rid of mine, well that and the fact that it was on it's last leg.
I didn't want to relearn with a different bike but I got my 900RR and the damn thing almost does the work for you. I love it!
98 900 RR with a 929 complete frontend(with steel lines).
This thing is an all around bike.
I hope this helps

Steve stunts the '00 SuperHawk. Yeah, the brakes SUCK! And we really haven't gotten too much into the slower stuff but it's awesome for wheelies.
As far as the carburation goes....the new '04 model I believe is fuel injected so it shouldn't have the stall out problem?? At least that is the rumor I've heard around the bike shop in Lakeland, FL.
PM WheelieSteve if you'd like to know more about a Super Hawk.

.I agree that they are a torqueie bike, but at low speed they do have issues with dieing, I was with the guy at Deals Gap when it caused him to high side, when it died mid turn, and I have rode that exact same bike, when my busa was down. It is comparable in feel, as far as torque, to my bike. But I had the same problem with it stalling at low speeds. So it depends on your definition of stunting, highway=ok, parking lot=? However, if new ones are fuel injection as Luna said the stalling factor goes away
