Broken Peg?...

Damn fellas....

i keep hearing all these horror stories about pegs breaking and im starting to wonder, i swapped mine early in the game but not cause mine broke, mainly for looks, they are the LP racing series (LP pic attached).. do you guys have exp. with these?, do i have anything to worry about? i even swapped the mild steel bolt that holds the assembly in with a grade 8 Hex bolt...

im really getting concerned here

JUNK

I crashed my 929 last month on the highway cuz the peg bolt snapped. Doing a knee in tha seat and the left peg went, glad I was in full leathers. If your going to do stand ups or tricks were all your weight is on on peg, replace that bolt with grade 8!!

thats what i did, i installed a set of LP race pegs and swapped the bolt with a grade 8.. the stock bolt look so cheesy next to the beefy LP peg, besides, i didnt like that fact that the bolt when screwed into the peg OFF the bike left about 3/4" thread free so after mounting it would leave a hair more 1/4" space, almost 3/8" behind the threads inside the peg, so i got 1/4" longer grade 8 bolts to grab more peg.. im big on stand ups and shifting mid flight, starting can-cans now and everyone here scared me to **** of this thing breaking on me

so basically im good, thats really what i wanted to know considering all these posts ive been seeing about broken peg spills.. i didnt want to have to add my spill story on a topic we all know so well...., that would be f***ed up, 2-3rd gear "can can" and having the peg breaking...sheez...sends chills dont it?

i never thought it would happen to me, but it did and I was very vertical... at least it happend around 50 mph and not 120 mph... the thing is when it happens you have no time to react, all I could think about when I was rolling around on the pavement was, ****, this isnt supposed to happen, Can anyone tell me where I can get some grade 8 bolts for my gix?

My boy Richies peg snaped off when he droped his bike doing donuts. It looked pretty funny sicne the only thing left was this little stump like an inch long. I couldnt imagine what would happen if it broke doing a standup
