I currently have an 03 R6. I can pretty much do all the basic tricks (christs, endos, skitch, etc.) which the exception of riding out wheelies. I've put a pipe, PC3, v stacks, slide stop kit, & -1/+2 520 sprockets on my bike. It's powerful but too twitchy. I can power up 3rd without a problem but can't keep it up. I'm wanting to learn all the stunts from highchairs to no-handers to 12's. I'd like to stick to yamaha's but their frames are **** and the 1 piece frame/sub frame wouldn't cut it. I wouldn't mind a honda but they're just too damn uncomfortable. Kawasaki's - NO. So that leaves me with Suzuki. There's plenty of parts available just about anywhere, their frames are expensive but hopefully I won't go through too many. Gsx-r600 doesn't have the power I want, and from what I've heard the 1000 doesn't have any room for error.

Yeah, you're probably right. I'm sure some of you guys that have been hardcore stunting for years could hop on it and 12 it right away. Actually I don't want to. I'd like to keep that bike in one piece and looking good. I'd rather get another bike that I can learn on and beat the sh*t out of until I get it down. Only thing is, today I jumped on a friends stock Gix6 and tried to wheelie it. First try I pulled it up in first and rode it a little ways. Second try, I bounced it up in 2nd and rode it out almost to red line and switched gears using the clutch and kept it up for a few seconds but had to set it down. And that was my first time on a gixxer, and my first long wheelie. After that I tried it on my bike again and still couldn't keep it from going to high or back to the ground. The only way I can get any real distance on one wheel on my R6 is in 3rd, and that still isn't that far. I'll be buying a Gix750 first of the year.
gixxer 600 are strong engine wise not subframes...750's like to blow engines...1000's are just as strong if not stronger than the 600 and the frame is stronger haven't found any cracks yet. The 1000's is a wheelie champ any gear any speed lots of torque low end and high. That's what i know about the gixxers i've had a 600 and now a 1000 and i just like the way they ride, i started on a gixxer so that's my style. It's all rider, whatever your comfortable with. But a good rider can adapt too any bike in a short period of time.
Just grab some ***** and go a little bit farther back on that r6. If your riding it to the redline on that gixxer, your still not even at the balance point.

the problem here is you're trying to ride out wheelies in 3rd. it's not that the bike is too twitchy it's that you need to acquire throttle and brake control. just keep practicing. and practice going slower in 1st. once the bike doesn't bob up and down, and doesn't accellerate during the wheelie you'll have made some progress. then move on to deeper gears and get that **** slowed down even more. the 03 r6 is pimp even in stock form + gears.
yeah the problem isn't the bike. if you can get it up but not ride it its not the bike. i've riden out over 100+ on an f3 and mine is stock except for exhaust. just work on what you have now before you get a new bike because you will wreck it, period. also i would really say honda for a stunt bike, cheap to fix great to ride. i have ridden mine for 200+ mile highways trips and i never though it was uncomfortable but i guess its just personal preference. i still say go with learning how to ride on that bike then wreck it and buy somehting better.

Uhhhhhh, you got the years mixed up on a few of them.....
It is 96-97 750 is the same bike w/ diff. colors (and a few diff slight mods) and both are carburated. Now the 600 stayed a SRAD until 2000, which at the following year changed its body style...
The 98-99 are the same bike. They are both fuel injected and the pioneers for the fuel injkection on these bikes. Again there are very very subtle differences like the cam chain tensioner was better on the 98's than the 99's but they both still were crappy....
On any bike I would change the cam chain tensioner but Kawasaki has been known to have among the best over any manufacturer...... All racer at the track do it as they know that the bikes cct will be under heavy load..... But here I go again with telling a speech........
I am done.......

I'd rather get a different bike to learn stunts on cause I like taking my R6 to the track and hittin up the twisties. And if/when I wreck it to where it's not rideable I still need a bike to ride. Plus it's my main source of transportation. My car's a p.o.s. Besides I can get a 00-02 gixxer for about $3000 or so. As far as the subframe goes, I can design and weld just about anything, aluminum, stainless, whatever. I'll just reinforce or design a stronger one with a removeable 12 bar. I've already designed a frame slider that has interchangeable ends and a bolt on cage.

I wouldn't mind getting a Honda but I rode an F4i and I didn't like the way it felt. It just felt wierd. I do like 900rr's though but I'd rather have a FI bike. And 929s are harder to find parts for and they're expensive. It'll probably come down to what I can find cheaper and what feels good. Then again I might wait until the 04 750's come out and see what they're like. I have a little bit of time to decide but as of right now I'm leaning towards a gixxer. I was able to jump on it for the first time, pull it up, and ride it out a pretty good ways. I'll have to test ride a Honda and see how it feels.
Can any of you guys make like a checklist or things to do list before starting to stunt. Things like tire pressure, adjusting the idle, fill up the tank, fixing the tip over sensor so it won't die, and whatever else there might be. I'm sure there's a lot of little stuff that you guys do that should know about.
