so i have a delima, my wife will only allow me to have one bike, and the bike i have now is a 98 gsxr600 (-1/stock) and i love it but it dosent have enough power for me, the bike right now runs like a dream, and looks good except for the tank being dented in.....i am having a hard time with this decision, so maybe you can all help me

1) keep the current bike, and go up 4 in the rear, jet it, and right now i have outdoor grass as in the pic on it, should i fur it, or grass it all the way

2) put a new tank on it, clean the hell out of it, and repaint it, to sell and buy a 750....which i will either fur or grass


which one would all of you do? please take into consideration that buying a new bike, will make money really tight for us (but i dont mind....long as i get to ride!!)

 

IF ITS JUST FOR STUNTING I SAY SAVE MORE MONEY AND GET BETTER ON THE 6 FOR NOW..YOU CAN ALWAYS STASH THE CHEESE FROM WIFEY

 

ride the 6 for now and save up for 750

Just keep stunting it and add more gearing. If you still aren't happy save up and buy a 750 motor and drop in. Same effect and alot cheaper. Pretty much a bolt in affair.

if you have two bikes hen she can ride next to you and then thats spending more time together
so not only do you have to bikes to stunt when you need to you also have more time being spent with your wife
should make everyone happy

if not and you want to let her be the BOSS then just get a 98 or 99 750 fuel injected motor and it will bolt right in
thats the cheapest way to go and you will like it

actually yeah, i do stop her from buying some things, the thing is she dosent care for sportbikes that much, she would rather sit on the back of a harley (which dont get me started on that topic!!!) but anyhow, much less me convince her to RIDE a sportbike....i have had her on the back of mine a few times, but all she does is holler and scream im going to fast, even when im only doin 55....
and second she really thinks im gonna kill myself on my bike, which i dont mind i would rather go out that way than anyother, but still, i am continuously showing the "xsba 110%" and "underground riders" and lvx, ect, ect....she still dosent seam to believe me about it being safe at 5-10 miles an hour with no hands on my back wheel....

My wife rides. I told her she didn't have to ride if she didn't want to. If she wanted to go she might be able to talk one of my friends that are of a nicer disposition then me to haul her. Fact is though, nobody sporting a sportbike, wanting to do wheelies, is going to be happy to haul somebody. Now she rides a Ninja (it's a great girl starter bike!) and she rides just fine.

Buy a new bike, and keep your old one. Rationalize it to her by working more overtime then her or something.

i see your already getting anough crap about your old lady so ill just skip over that and say that i personally think that short fur is better it doesnt matter what kind of fur it is cuz someone else has already done it so what ever color or pattern flotes your boat. but to me short fur is definitly better. oh and that 600 can do what ever you want it to do so keep it untill you and your old lady decide its time to get something else.

 

ok so i keep the sixxer, im already down 1 in front, and i would like to start on 12's.....would +4 in rear be way to much, since i want to be at idleing around 2500 in first so i can go handless...

would that make me not be able to ride twisties as hard? i mean would that make it way to jumpy in bends?

 

im not the smartest in the gearing but i do know that your bike should be able to 12 at the gearing you have now. I would just keep it like that for a while and just practice 12 and slow wheelies, and then when you are pretty comforitable with it then go ahead and gear up, and i dont know how hard you ride through turns, but yes it does affect the power in the top end. If you are like my friend and go up 26 in the back and 2 down in the front then you will top out at about 100 miles an hour.

keep the 6. going up 4 in the rear is fine. you can 12 a stock bike. over the winter throw a FI 750 motor in it. bolts right up. FI is the ****. *** the fur. fur is old, rock a swet rattle can paint job. throw some clear on it and it will look mint from 5 feet away. remember this is a stunna not a minty piece. good luck.
