Leaking gas tank

I caved in my gsxr gas tank a little too much. The actual gas lid locks when you close it but it doesn't seal. Anytime i do stoppies or 12's it leaks.

Does anybody have any solutions on fixing this?

(I'm to cheap to buy another tank)

If you dont dent your tank in a certain way it does that.. Theres really no fix for it that works good. Buy a vortex gas cap and it will fix your problems but its kinda expensive.

hook that tank up to something and pull it out. I used a LARGE rachet strap and the overhang from my garage door. Just sit on the bike and crank the strap it will pull up the tank a little bit.

already put jb weld. didn't work. it just make the gas stay built up underneath the lid and it came out faster

i got an idea although i haven't tried it yet. take the gas cap off and put a few small washers under the legs of the cap. then reinstall it and it should pull the actuall cap and seal tighter.

mine leaks sooo bad. when i'm in a stoppie it flows out and when i come down it pools in the dent.

gsxr tank

My friend had the same thing happen on his 1000. every time he stoppied gas would come out of the tank. not alot but enough to bother you. The problem was the inner lip on the tank that the spring latch locks to was dented in. sounds confusing but here. when the cap is open look at the lip of the tank, there is probalby a dent in it that matches the tooth on the spring latch. well there isn't supposed to be an indentation there. we used some body tolls and bent the lip back as best we could. then it didn't leak nearly as much. you can also go to an automotive store and buy sheets of gasket material and cut out rings to make the rubber seal on the gas cap lock thicker so it doesn't have to close as tight to make a seal. thats what we did. hope that makes sense.
