why clutch?

why is clutching so much better in everyones eyes. i dont know if its the way you learned or what
ive learned on my bike with bouncing but now im moving to clutch for slower stuff like 1st n 2nd(sitdowns) but i have always bounce for 3rd highway wheelies i cant seem to clutch a 3rd sitdown or stand up
is this just me and the way i learned and just a matter of preffrence or what

To me, clutching brings it up alot smoother. And I only tried bouncing while my rear sprocket was jacked. But once it got fixed, I havent tried bouncing since then...

The higher the gear, the more effort will be needed to bring the bike up. And not just clutchin, but body tech too.

because you just can't possibly bounce it up as fast as with the clutch

i clutch mine at 1mph and have it up at BP at ~10-15mph, witch is impossible to bounce up..

clutching is just more predictable.. I asked the same question till i started clutching it, then I wondered why I was bouncing it at all..

I can do either one, but I suck at both so it's all good.

I still feel really wierd about clutching 2nd gear stand ups, but like everything it take 1000 reps to get comfortable with it.

ive never looked back.. clutching is so much safer.. dump a ton of torque to lift it from 9oclock to like 10:30.. then you use throttle to fine tune the altitude..

You shouldnt have to bounce it on 1st. sit down or stand up the 954 will come right up by just thrttling it, stand up 2nds maybe a little bounce. I have a 750 (well it's all phucked up not but) and it comes up smooth as ***** in first no bounce.

i dont like clutching all the time because sometimes it comes up real fast and others it comes up real nice i admit it is nicer for slower stuff 1st n 2nd but i still like the bounce for highway

clutch predictable and faster.

if you can be at a dead stop and power it up to a 12 oclock and only be at 5mph, then you are a god.

tha'ts how i clutch, dead stop, straight to 12 and bam, i'm going 5mph and rocking slow. so why use the throttle and get used to it when you have to learn clutch for slow stuff. also, it does all the work to get it up and youi don't gain any speed.

i think on highway stuff, when i clutch it i gain about 5mph that i can bleed off real fast once it's up, verses the 20mph i can with just bouncing and throttle. plus the rpm gain is a bitch cause higher rpms means twitchy throttle and side to side wobble.

Snap on snap off grasshopper! Seriously though, that's the guts of it, not very technical though!

I like to clutch sit downs and bounce standups. Just my preference, but more than anything I think it depends on what you're doing.

i have been riding for a really long time, and i started out clutching till i broke clutch plates, and a friend of mine broke two baskets on his gsxr 1000. so i learned to bounce, i do all of my 12's without the clutch on my 929, and i'm running a 15/46 gear. it's not too extreme, because i like to ride my bike to work (30 highway miles).

i don't 12 from a dead stop, i rely totally on the throttle and rear brake....im usually going about 15mph, and can slow it down....i can even do it on my friends gsxr 600, so i know it's technique. i don't run a bar either, and my tailllight and exhaust are about scraped off.

just get it to about 6 grand, sit there with just enough throttle to maintain it, then rip it to full throttle as hard as you can and I guarantee it will come right up (unless the 954 somehow has less power than the 929 haha).

Then you need to slow your row a bit. ....You haven't even gotten the basics down.... I don't care what you say buddy. I am not talking smack. I am just telling you from years of riding. I am no hard core stunta but know the ropes of just about everything esle. Am I the best? No. But I have 16yrs riding under my belt. I suggest you try to enjoy the bike and then start stuntin. You are only asking for a disaster. Your bike will come up easier than a F'n crack head hooker wanting some cash for ***. You haven't learned the bike yet.

And why you would buy a 954 for your first bike is beyond me.....Oh I know i know, you don't want to get bored. Yeah, ok. I have smoked a few 929's a 954, a gix 750, and a few others I can't remember. All on a 600, an old as ZX-6. Why? They couldn't ride for ****.

Listen, it is good you have kept it up so far so, keep doing what your doing and take it slow. Many squids would have been down by this point for you. Have fun and be safe...........

And be the F careful, you dont wanna F yourself or your bike up. There is a kid about 5-6 wks ago bought a new gixxer 750 and wrecked the same day and is paralyzed form the neck down. They said he would recover initially but after almost 2 months of no improvement the chances are going down drastically.

All because he wanted to go and not learn properly....
