v twins
v twins
i am currently in the process of picking out my next bike, but there are so many choices out there. I like the RC51 but i never rode a v twin. are they good for stunting? cuz you don't see too many stunters on them, just curious if thats for any specific reason.
Dude those bikes are too heavy, you could stunn one to a limit but it wouldnt be easy. The RC-51 is probably the worst, I havent rode one but I hear they are guttless and they are hella heavy, I think the best v twin wheelie bike is a TLR.

MY LIL BROTHER RODE A SV 650S. THERE LIGHT. BUT HE BLEW A MOTOR WAITED 5 1/2 MONTHS FOR THE WARRANTY WORK. BLEW IT 2 DAYS LATER. GET A ZX-6 OR 9 TRIPLE PISTON CALIPERS ON THE FRONT. YOU REALLY DONT NEED POWER IF YOU HAVE CONTROL.
so it's more an issue of weight than engine type i take it. From what I hear the twins are sposed to have lots o torque. Ik now it's the rider, not the bike, but obviously some are better made for certain types of riding.

first things first v-twins are all torque, i rode a superhawk for a while and ill tell u what first gear just lit the throttle while the bikes rollin and it would shoot straight up (and thats stock gearing). As far as the best twin its gotta be the super hawk, its light feeling (dont know the actual weight) higher bar height than most and lots of usable torque down low. now yes they do rev out at a lower rpm than the 4 cyclinders but u also have usable power for the ENTIRE rpm sweep not just the top half without gearing the crap outa it, but overall the best bike for u is the one u can afford and u can feel comfortable on........and none o fus can tell u that!

yeah im not sure how good they are for 12's but i would assume they would be good brcause all the guys ridin 4 cylinders are gearin the crap outta them to get the torque (basically gearin the 4's to get the same results that u'd get from a twin)

i didnt mean that u thought somebody hear should tell u exactly what to buy and u would run out and buy i really meant that the first thing u need to do is figure out exactly what u want from the bike and start there, from there the best thing i would say to do is ride as many bikes as u can and i mean all of the onces in yer price range if possible, cause a bike is like a girl one thats perfect for u may not be one that somebody else would get with
then go from there to buy the bike that fits YOU best.FYI - i dont care how good of a rider u are and how tight u are with ur boy DONT RIDE HIS BIKE UNLESS U CAN REPLACE IT RIGHT THERE ON SPOT OR HE/SHE HAS COLLISION. ive seen it happen and trust me fighting over a wrecked bike is worse than the fights that srise from stealing a friends girl!
yea anytime i ride one of my boys' bikes its in a parking lot just cruisin' around. Definitely don't need to be buyin someone else a new bike. hey sclevela i'll be livin in middletown this summer right across the way so i'll prob be seein you around then(hopefully on my new piece

but wreck rider drop me a line when ur gonna be in the area
until then keep it on one wheel.........and good luck with the bike search
i know the spot by club dv8 right? im originally from Newburgh and i'm finishin school up here in Albany this spring. Gonna have tons o' loans to pay back so i'm livin in with the 'rents in M-town till I pay em off. So one way or another i'll be out and about when it gets warm, wether its on my crunchy piece or a shiny new one
I stunt a 2002 TLR right now. Weight really have never been an issue for me. Im able to roll endo's over 100 ft with the pig, but im not really going for the distance. The bike rocks on the highway when you bring it up at 100mph doing a stand up. Ill tell ya right now. It was my fist twin and i dont think ill ever go back. I put that bike throgh hell too in the 8 months that i have owned it. And The bike is in my feelings the strongest bike ive ridden. One thing though, if you get a TLR, switch the clutch to a cable and get rid of the hydro-clutch. My leaks bad right now and im in the process of changing it. As for gearing, i got 2up in the back right now but im switching it to one down in the front and going 6 up in the back. Does anyone think thatll be too much???:D
