anyone stuntin'/freestyle an TWIN ????

Just want to know how many of us are out there and how your twin behaves as opposed to a four cylinder bikes. I know I wouldn't go four once I played on a twin. What's your opinions???

Re: anyone stuntin'/freestyle an TWIN ????

TL1000R here, up until now i had stuck to the basic wheelies(sit-downs & standups), endos, circle burnouts...but right now I'm converting it into a stunt bike completely, cage and 12'bar and streetfightered...here's a pic...

as for twins vs. fours in my opinion, i love the twin, for one they are kinda unique in the stunt community, dont see too many of them, second...i'd miss the deep growl fer sure! :YEAH and of course its the first bike i got started stunting on, i want it to live forever(although i know that one day i'm gonna have to put her to sleep)

I have an rc51. It's different than a 4 because you have less rpm's to work with. You have to shift a little more. The bp is high, but there is enough power to keep winding it back up. It's cool because you have so much torque and low end power. You can power it right up from 3000 rpm's. Only one problem, to expense to crash, pretty soon I will get a cheap bike I can crash and I will get better.

RC51's ?!?!?! TLR's ?!?!? those are the crappiest v-twin to stunt...

my buddie stunts the crap out of a sv650 : cheap parts, cheap bike, alot of spares, no cowling(plastics)... almost THE perfect stuntbike, plenty of torque in the lowend for the slow stuff too !

rc51's and tlr's are quite weighty too not to mention..

Re: anyone stuntin'/freestyle an TWIN ????

personally I dont think it really matters if people stunt a RC51 or a TLR, yea the sv650 is lighter, maybe us that stunt TLR's just love riding the TL's. I just think its all preference, might be cheaper to go to an SV650, but then it wouldnt be any fun! Plus I think its cool that not many people stunt the big V-Twins, makes us riders quite different from many others. Either way I'm not rippin on your comment but just thought I'd give my

What do you think off the VTR Firestorm. It is the semi fairing 1000cc V-Twin honda. I pull some awesome wheelies with this :YEAH . Awesome Torque at low rpms.

yah, hey.. stunt what you got I definatley ain't hatin :D

I thought someone was inquiring about purchasing a vtwin for a stuntbike.. and if someone were to purchase one there is a huge price diff between the 650(~5k) and tlr(~10k)

my friend that stunts the sv says he loves the vtwin way over the i4

Re: anyone stuntin'/freestyle an TWIN ????

SV is loads of fun. I'm just learning the slow stuff, but several times I was going over in third and just rolled off the throttle instead of rear breaking to bring me to sanity. It's cool 'cause I can keep both feet wherever I want instead always having my right foot on the right peg. Bought it for 4800 bucks, new, an '02 leftover. Youi can't beat that for a new bike :YEAH

Rockin' a '98 Honda Superhawk. It's a 996 v-twin. -2+10 gearing, Ohlins Dampner, Cage(finally), 12 bar, etc. etc. Great bike to ride and rock low speed stuff on. Motor bogs after its been up in the air for awhile. Think it might just be flooding the rear cylinder w/fuel. Other than that no problems here. Did I mention that it's Furred :YEAH

Hey mate...cool to hear someone else is ride'n one. -2+10..that means -2 front cog and +10 on the rear? I can't pull 2nd gear wheelies perriod. that fully sucks. Will this gear change make it easeier.

Thanks mate

Is there any truth to rumor of burning up the front cylinder because of lack
of oil when riding highway wheelies? I'm sure if you go long enough on a in
line it would burn up too but is it easier on a v-twin.

I can't say i've ever had a problem with the motor, other than the fact a rev limiter burnout scored the rear cylinder. That was the only time though with motor probs. I always run 1 to 1 1/2 quarts of oil extra anyways. With the pressure lube oil system, I just assumed that the extra oil would guarantee the oil pump pickup would always be submerged in oil when the front tire is in the air. Therefore in my opinion the top end would never be starving for oil. Wether this is good or not, i've never researched, but never had any trouble with it either. Maybe i'm just lucky, we'll see what it looks like in a few weeks though when I pull it down to port & polish the heads. :YEAH

Re: anyone stuntin'/freestyle an TWIN ????

I should also add, that guys that I ride with that are running I-4 motors (inlines) and ride lots of highway wheelies run an extra quart or so over capacity and never have trouble with motors. Biggest thing is keeping the oil clean and fresh. Oil that is black and broke down doesn't lubricate like fresh stuff.

Hmm, a salvage sv650 is not a bad idea for a stunt bike. Of course my F4 is already beat to **** so I guess that idea came a little late.
