Tim and Shugga

In case ya didnt know I was a police officer for 10 years, and Director of Security for WestEnd in Dallas. I still work some security, executive protection stuff. I told David Martin I would coordinate yalls security for LSBB Event FOR FREE, I knew there would be problems with FWPD doing security, they are all anti-sportbike (most of them at least) If you are interested an want an alternative to FWPDS Finest (HA) the offer still stands, David has my cell phone number. I would be willing to help in anyway I can to make it a more pleasurable experience for the competitors and spectators. LEt me know

To whom it may concern......The judging was completely impartial and fair. We did not know any of the competitors until the end of the weekend. Competitors that crashed during their routine had to have substantial points deducted from their score. The competitors and the teams with the best overall presentation and no crashes took home the glass. As judges, we didn't even get to see the final scoring until the trophy presentation.

I for one was very impressed with several of the competitors, however; I was extremely impressed with a select few. The winners earned it. The losers are complaining. Some people had an off day, some people didn't. The best stunters of the day prevailed. More unbiased judging would have been impossible.

Everyone who rode this weekend did a great job! Some did an exceptional job.

That is your opinion. Hit me up at the next place you go to and I am there and you can give me whatever bag or blindfold you want, even tape my eyes shut.

Alright.......I'm here to tell you that I know Chauncey, Gorka, and all those "big dogs" and when Steve and I finished our run for PROFESSIONAL FREESTYLE COMPETITION they all said it was sick. And if someone would recall I did bring up the issue of making a class for Tandem.....but if you remember.....Tim said no it belongs in the Freestyle division......Steve and ANT had to make solo passes before picking up the passenger.

Out of 25 riders they only took back 5. That isn't alot. And Sickest Trick......to me is something "different" if it's been done before add a twist. Make it your own. Sickest is just that.....it is meant for a trick that WOWS the fans but is something new.....Like 12o'clock and standing up on top of the bike while scraping and then letting go with 1 hand....bad a$$. XSBA won't let 2 up competitors compete. Their "rules" don't allow it. So I wouldn't say that they are any better they are equals on a field that is growing that is all.

I find it funny that a year ago Individual refered to the bike......now it refers to the rider. What Steve and ANT showed the judges that may or may not have pushed them over the top was something different. There a dime a dozen of solo riders.......but few Tandem Riders...... I don't know what they were judging us on....... but I don't think that the judges were biased......I had never met them. And even though Steve and I placed in the Freestyle event......we didn't qualify for Sickest with our trick so you can't say that I'm saying this only 'cause we placed.

Just my .02 but Steve and I ask at every event if it's okay if we compete. We make sure that if solo passes are required we do those. Until a seperate class for Tandem is created we're gonna compete in FREESTYLE.......any style goes......last time I checked that is what it meant.

I do agree I would have liked to seen were the points were added up even after placing......points give you a better understanding of where you fell in with the other riders. It helps make you better for the next competition.

hmmm

how many different burnouts did you do? how many different stoppies did you do? how difficult were all the wheelies you were doing? there is just no way you would win in xsba, even if they did let you do a tandom... not enuff time for one person to barely get a solid run in, much less 2. XSBA is where its at, like it or not! anyone who dont think so, see ya in daytona!!! LATA GATAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Snap out of it people, Texas was awesome...Recognize.

I shot every single run by every single person / team every day. I did my time and was pummelled by the Texas sun and heat for three days straight....this is the way I see it:;

If you we're not there ... you have NOTHING to say about the event

People are bitching about the event? This event was a TWENTYFIVE THOUSAND DOLLAR payout at TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY and people are crying about following a few OBVIOUS rules? I've got news for you... You wheelie in the tunnel it's not to far fetched you're going to get thrown out... You put a child on the handlebars of you bike and ride in front of the cops it does not take a rocket scientist to figure out they are not going to be cool with it. You want to have a Fifty Dollar payout in your back yard you can kill each other off and no one will give a ****. This is the big leagues people. The largest payout this sport has EVER seen.

In any sport (Baseball, Football.......Boxing???) with human refs or judges there is always a margin for human error. This sport is and will be no different. For the record I will say that I thought Dan Jackson put in one of the top Three qualifying runs and was shocked that he did not make it to "the Big dance' but you know what? That's how it shakes out.

The judges did a good job. They took thier job and the riders very seriously. At one point during the event they asked me to move down the grass so they would not be seen speaking to me in fear of people thinking I was influencing the outcome.

As far as the outcome of the team event ; I would have been just as thrilled if Geared Up won instead of the Black Sheep Squadron team ( Gorka, Chauncey, Thew, Ant ) I just wanted to see a good fight and it turned out to be a awesome battle. I've watched the footage and I believe that it was judged fairly. Geared Up are going to be superstars when Black Sheep Squadron comes out so it would have been just as exciting for them to win. However they did not, They old dogs got it up .... One last time???

In closing it's a week later and I just got back in after attending yet another event. on yet another track run by yet another promotor. If you think the Texas event was poorly run get your *** out to some of these other events which are more the norm than the exeption. I feel that Tim and his people worked hard and did a good job putting this difficult sport populated by very challanging people in the TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY with a TWENTYFIVE THOUSAND DOLLAR payout.

By the way THE URBAN STREET-BIKE WARRIORS TOUR will be a exibition not a compitition. Where there are winners there are always losers and there will be neither when this circus comes to town

I believe in this sport and for the most part the people in it.

very true!

only problem i had with security was the access issue. we as riders and pit crew should have been issued a different color wrist band. then there would have been no questions asked when trying to enter the staging area on a 50. the track issued one color of wristband, so we as riders were no different to the staff then John Doe crusing in on his harley!

Oh yeah, another thing that sucked is that Kyle and I never got to fight. Sometimes the sun really shines on people.

Not knowing either one of you personally but respecting both of you for your skills, things like this is what holds the sport back. As a parent my son loves watching but If I was not involved with the "scene" and took my child to a event and something like this happened between, A world record holder and one of the best in the sport, it would turn me against the whole sport.
