what level fork oil is the best for stunting

im considering using a heavier oil in my forks because i think the standard oil in at the minute is to thin and is contributing towards the fast busting of fork seals. just wondering how the bike will ride on endos etc.. if i use a thicker oil.

p.s i am also going to use some beefed up fork seals.

Fill it as the manual says. You might try running stiffer springs instead of the thicker oil. I think with the thicker oil they blow just as easy. I've also heard that aftermarket seals aren't very good either. Just some of my

how much oil is in my forks depends on how bad the seals are leakin that day!

I use stock oil and seals and I go through maybe a set / yr.

I think heavier oil will cause the seals to blow a lot quicker

If I were in your shoes I would go with the stock oil and beefed up seals.

too much oil will cause too much pressure and blow them easier

also, heavier oil is about the same, with lighter oil it'll bottom easier which will make the blow, with heavier oil when you land hard it puts more pressure with pushes on the seals. either way

i run 15w with recommended ammount in them.

Gonna try using 15w oil, gen fork seals and inch spacer on top of each spring. Tryed getting a hold of some heavier race tech springs but they wont be here till next week and i need the bike for a show this weekend.

i'll let you know what difference this makes when ive tryed it.

yeah DO NOT run more oil than reccomended. i took my forks to a shop and they over filled them, they were so full they would only compress about a centimeter. took them back and they re did them. then one was still over filled and blew the seal the same day i put them on.

Yeah, its normally just under half a litre in each, plus i let mine drain over night just to make sure all the sh*ty oil is outa there.

ya, 500ml is what honda book calls for on 929.

and ya, don't put spacers on your springs, that just raises your preload which will make it ride like ****. you need stiffer rate springs so your preload won't change but the springrate (stiffness) will.

people try to put spacers to make it stiffer when it really just ****s your preload. I know cause i used to setup my race bikes myself and i took those suspension classes that race tech offers.

i'd run stiffer springs if i actually cared and wanted to spend the 100$ on them.
