I'm gonna start riding in April of next year and I've already started looking around for a new bike... I'm thinking about picking up a new Gixxer 600 for my first, but I'd like some input from some experienced riders. What do you guys think?

 

Buy a 636 man, top of its class and awesome power! i first owned a CBR 600 i thought it was great and all but then i bought this blue 636 and it was amazing. thats what i think. Peace

 

dont buy a Kawi, and if your going to get this to
learn how to stunt on don't get the cbr600rr or
the R6, get an F4i of a gixxer600 i would go with
the gixxer, i have one i like it, it has a little more
power than the f4i

 

I agree, dont get the kawi, go with a gixxer, I love mine, also think the R6 is a nice stunt bike. Sit on them both and which ever riding position you like the best, go with it! I personally liked the gixxer and my previous experience with it.

if your gonna make a life outa stunting don't get the kawi...other than that it's a fkn tremendus bike all around.

don't buy a kawi 636, the motor can't take the abuse (for real, my friend's is already in the shop for new cams, valves, and guides), don't buy the new honda rr either unless you don't plan on doing tank related stuff...i'd go w/ the gixxer or the yamaha. i personally like the gixxer (that's why i ride one) the tank is wider so it is more comfortable for my fat a** and i like the seating better then the r6 but that's all personally pref. just my .02

 

Time has told and 636's do take abuse. and what are you riding now?

Now whats a lot of guys stunting? it was just because the pre-03's were bad and no one had really abused a newer designed ZX yet. dont bash, unless you know.

iv got over 50000 km on my 636 and i abuse it all the time ther motors are tuff as ****

 

636 o3 , motor is noisy, frames are crap, front forks snap .btw i love my 636 it just isnt a perfect bike

 

i got a 97 zx11 i can pull it up in 2nd or 3rd gear...and it does stoppies juss fine...

 

ahhh **** it. get a bike that you like, and ride it. when you hit the road your gonna be hooked and nothing else matters! I got an f4i I love it. does not mean you will. just have a good time that the important thing!!!!!!

 

Agreed. I went to a bar one time and the cup said its what you ride that matters. Given the name of the place was harley hotrods. I diagreed with that and think its that you ride that matters. Dont take advice from the salesman or people here that have chosen a favorite bike. (not all have) Just pick a couple you like, look up a couple reviews, and make your choice. Its the ride that matters.
